Mark Anthony Flowers, Sr.

Mark Anthony Flowers, Sr., 69, of San Antonio, Texas passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on September 11, 2025. Mark was born May 5, 1956, in San Antonio, Texas to Bernard and Betty Flowers. He was the third of four children. He married Sandra Linne on June 15, 1985, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in La Vernia, TX.
Mark was a proud graduate of Alamo Heights High School class of 1975 and graduated from UTSA. He lived most of his life in San Antonio, except for the 7 years when the family moved to Albuquerque, NM when Kelly AFB was closed and he was transferred to Kirkland AFB. He was able to transfer back to Lackland AFB in San Antonio, TX in August 2007 to be closer to the family. He was master of ceremony for several years at the disability luncheon for Kelly AFB. He received multiple awards for his work including one he was most proud of for saving the government millions of dollars. He retired December 31, 2023, after 35 years of service to his country and the Dept of Defense. After retiring he became an avid Soap Opera fan.
He loved all kinds of sports, especially football and was a diehard Dallas Cowboy, UT Longhorns, and San Antonio Spurs fan. He enjoyed attending Spurs games with his son Mark Jr.. He was very active in his son's life and supported him in all his activities. He became a Scout Master in Boy Scouts, enjoying weekend camping trips with the scout troop and summer camps. He was very proud of Mark Jr. reaching the goal of Eagle Scout and worked with him on his Eagle Scout project and earning his merit badges. He was the Wagon Master for the Mac Arthur High School Band during his son's high school career and oversaw the transportation of the band equipment for 3 years to football games and competitions. He also chaperoned the band's annual trips to the Texas coast and Disney World.
He is preceded in death by his father Bernard Flowers, and in-laws Leslie and Amy Linne.
He is survived by his wife Sandy, stepdaughter Leslee Linne, son Mark Flowers, Jr and fiancée Sarah Trevino. mother Betty Flowers, brother Nick Flowers and his wife Susan of Houston, sister Linda Christian and her husband Roger, sister Darlene Lewis, numerous nieces and spouses, great nieces and nephews, aunts, uncle, cousins and friends.
