Martin Burrell Obituary
Martin Amos "Sonny" Burrell, of San Antonio, TX, joined his beautiful wife in Heaven on Jan. 2, 2018 at the age of 88 years. Martin was born Jan. 31, 1929 in San Antonio, one of five children of Amos Francis Burrell and Ida Josephine Theis Burrell. On April 26, 1956, he married Margaret Louise Persyn at St. John Berchmans Catholic Church. Martin and Margaret were blessed with over 55 years of marriage. Martin was preceded in death by his parents, Amos and Ida Burrell; wife, Margaret Louise Persyn Burrell; sister, Bernice Schulze and brothers, Milton L. Burrell, Sr. and Raymond J. Burrell. Survivors include his daughter, Carolyn (Robert) Crawford; grandsons, Shawn Crawford, Jason (Jennifer) Crawford, Dr. Aaron (fiancée Dr. Ashley Fee) Crawford; great granddaughter, Finley Crawford; sister, Frances Neill of Aransas Pass. Visitation: Sunday, Jan. 7th from 5-8 pm at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home, with the Holy Rosary at 7 pm. Mass of the Resurrection: Monday, Jan. 8th at 10 am at St. John Berchmans Catholic Church. Interment will follow at San Fernando Cemetery II with military honors. Memorials may be made in Martin's memory to St. Joseph's Society, 420 César Chávez, San Antonio, TX 78204.
