Deyo Family, I was very fortunate to have worked with Matthew at the Carver library. He was knowledgable about his job, but to compliment that was helpful attitude he had with anybody that needed help. He was also the only Carolina Panther fan I have ever met down here. I will always have fond memories of such a wonderful individual as your son. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

I cannot imagine your pain. I only wish I could lessen it somehow, or find some way to remove it completely. If only we could rewind time to that moment and change it all. I cannot find the words to express what my heart feels for you. I've read every message in Matt's guest book and wish I had met him. He was truly a great young man who was loved by many and will be missed by all. The earth will continue spinning, and the days will continue to go by. But now there is a great void in this life that happened all too quickly and too soon. A void that cannot be filled, except with the love and memories that you have in your hearts. Everyone he has touched is a much better person because he has passed through their life. I pray that your memories and continuing love for Matthew will comfort you in the time to come, and that you can remember that some day we will all be reunited in a much better place than this world.
My daughter, Julie, loves him very much. And because of her love for him, he will always have a special place in my heart.
May God bless you and the angels watch over you. I will keep Matthew in my prayers.

My deepest sympathy goes out to your family in this time. I never had the opportunity to meet him but God Bless you and your family in this time. I recently lost 2 very close family members and prayer is what has helped me along the way.

Thought you might Enjoy this poem...

Dear God,
This is just a little letter for you, because we have an agreement. You are to babysit my little boy for us until we come to see him, I only ask these few things from you,
One please make sure you tell him mommy loves him more than the world
Two tell him big sister was so excited to have a little brother she was even willing to share her toys..
Three take a lot of pictures for us to look at when we pick him up someday we don't want to miss a single thing..
Four make sure he knows his Daddy was very proud to call him his very own son
And finally number five.. Like I said we have a agreement you are only to baby sit him until we get there , after we do Mommy and Daddy can handle the job...
Thank you God.....

It was a great privilege to work with Matthew as his advisor in the National Society of Leadership and Success at Northwest Vista College. I was able to see him grow as a member into an officer. Matt would do whatever was asked of him with a smile. Even if that meant to get up to podium and speak in front of a crowd of 200 people for his first official ceremony as an officer. He will be missed greatly. I am so sorry that you had to lose your son at such a young age. I am sure that you are both very proud of what Matt had accomplished in his short life. My prayers and thoughts are with you and your family.

Deyo Family,

I was privileged to have worked with Matthew at the Forest Hills Branch Library. It took awhile for me to get to know Matthew because we didn't click right away.. but we soon became good friends and when he was transferred to another city department I was so sad because I missed seeing his everyday smiles and his humor.. Matthew came by to visit us at the library and tell us his stories. He was always entertaining and fun to be around. He was family to us at the library..
We will always remember our Matt.

We lost one of our Own....

Matt's loss will be felt for a long time because it just seems all so senseless. The conversations over the past few days have been full of love and life. Not only for him but because of his love for it as well. I only hope that I go on a good day. Riding in the sun with the people I love all around me. Matt I'll miss you here but I find comfort in knowing I have a new guardian angel on my side whenever I ride.

My name is Kevin Nebus. I've known the Deyo family since Matt & Tiff were just little kids... He was always a fun, energetic young man that would bring a smile to someone's face as easily as he could simply breathe... Although I cannot attend his funeral, I would like to just say that he will be missed and that I wish I could have known him better than I did. He was a wonderful person, and I was privileged to have known him. Frank, Lynda and Tiff... Though he may be gone, remember him for his life and the lives he touched and were better for because of him... We love you and are saddened by this tragic loss... We're here for you... Don't hesitate to call on us for anything.

April 20, 2010

Do Not Stand At My Grave and Weep,
I am not there,
I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on a horses mane,
I am the gentle drops of rain.
When you awaken in the morning hush,
I am your uplifting rush,
Of quiet birds in morning flight
I am the bright stars at night.
Do not stand at my grave cry;

I am not there, I did not die....

Frank and Lynda,
There are no words to answer your question "WHY"
There are no words to fill that void you have been left with.
God has a strange way of letting us be with our loved ones on
"Borrowed Times" for how ever long God deems fit. Each and everyone of us is here with a mission to complete and once it's done then our "Maker" calls for our return to HIM.
The only thing God forgot, was to to show us, how to deal with the pain. We that remain have to live with.
There aren't any words to heal. Memories, oh how they hurt.
Time cures- But this wound will never close.
Love the life he had.
But remember Matt is everywhere
In the SUN, MOON, STARS.
In the heart of his fathers smile, in the height of his mothers laughter,. He is the twinkle in his nieces Blue eyes.
Matt is there... everywhere.

I love both of you so very much.

Frank and Lynda,

The hearts and prayers of my family go out to you and yours in this time of sadness.

Although I only had the honor of knowing Matt for a short time I will always remember the ever present smile on his face.

It saddens me knowing that I was a member of Matt's final ride but the thought of knowing that he was surrounded by those who knew and loved at the end helps to put my heart at peace.

We are new to The Caliente Chapter Family and would like to offer our deepest sympathy and let you know your family is in our thoughts and prayers. May these words bring you some comfort.
"If You Could See Me Now"
If you could see me now you wouldn’t shed a tear.
Though you may not understand why I’m no longer there.
Remember my spirit that is the real me because I’m still very
Much alive, I’ve just been set free, Oh, if you could only see!
I have beheld our Father’s face and I’ve touched my Savior’s
Hand. All of Heaven’s angels rejoiced as I entered the promised
Land. Beyond the gates of pearl I’ve walked on the golden streets.
I’ve touched the walls of jasper and dipped my foot in the
Crystal sea. The beauty is beyond words and nothing could
Compare, I’ve even seen your mansion and someday
I’ll meet you there. Let Jesus be your guide because
His Word will show you the way! So please don’t
Cry because we will meet again someday.
