Maureen Krause Obituary
November 13, 1932 - October 27, 2025
Maureen Elizabeth Finger Krause, 92, a native of D'Hanis and long-time resident of Wharton, passed away Monday, Oct. 27, 2025, in Boerne. Born Nov. 13, 1932, in Hondo, she was the daughter of Maurice Joseph Finger and Julia Lillian Wernette Finger. Maureen attended school in Skidmore, earned a degree in Science from the University of Houston and later went to Prairie View A&M to get her Masters in Math. She taught at Wharton High School and, later, at Wharton County Junior College until she was 80. A devout Catholic, she loved the church, was a Eucharistic minister, and often drove homebound friends to Mass. She loved to garden, read, travel and cook – her chicken and dumplings were the best.
Maureen was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alfred S. "Al" Krause; son, Paul "Bodie" Krause and wife Diana; and sister, Norma Lee Henry and husband John.
She leaves two daughters, Maureen "Booner" Mount (Steve) and Alma "Pinky" Brooks (John); six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Rosary: 9:00 a.m., Funeral Mass: 9:30, Saturday, Nov. 8, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, D'Hanis; Private interment: Holy Cross Cemetery #2, D'Hanis. Full obituary: www.guinn-horger.com
