Mildred Hill Obituary

Mildred Louise Hill (Hart) was born on March 13th, 1932, in Norfolk, Virginia. Mildred or, "Millie", passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones August 1st, 2022 in San Antonio, Texas.

Mildred spent her childhood years living in Houston, TX. She was a proud graduate of Reagan High School in Houston and went on to Sam Houston State University where she received a scholarship for Music. During her time at Sam Houston, she was a member of the Philo sorority, where she made friendships that lasted throughout her entire life. It was while she was at Sam Houston that she met the love of her life, and husband of sixty-eight years, Glenn Hill, Sr. After Glenn returned from the Korean War, the couple was married. They lived in Natalia and Falls City, TX before ultimately settling down in San Antonio, Texas where they had raised two sons, Glenn, Jr and Larry.

After college, Mildred pursued a career in elementary school teaching. Her passion for her students remained steadfast throughout her long career. Her love for the classroom was only surpassed by two things- her love for her family and football. Mildred proudly cheered on as Glenn, Sr. spent his career as a high school football coach. She never missed a game as Glenn, Jr and Larry played throughout their childhoods. And when her sons and grandsons went on to become coaches, she proudly kept that tradition alive. She was, without a doubt, her family's biggest cheerleader.

In addition to her love of sports, Mildred was deeply religious and an active member of First Baptist Church in San Antonio, TX.
She served at the Church's Fourth Street Inn and taught the children's choir at the Church for decades. She was also a proud member of the Singing Women of Texas, loved to play the viola, and took pride in her sewing skills.

Mildred is survived by her loving husband, Glenn Hill, Sr., her sons, Glenn Hill, Jr. and wife Holly; Larry Hill and wife Lori; grandchildren Alan Hill and wife Stephanie, Bryan Hill and wife Lauren, Ashley Brewer and husband Ryan, Glenn Hill, III and wife Ali; great-grandchildren Avery, Austin, Hunter, Hayes, Hudson, Holt, Harper, Grant, and Bennett; and brother Robert Hart and his wife Ann. She was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed.

Services will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, August 5th, 2022, at First Baptist Church of San Antonio's Wilson Chapel, all are welcome to attend.

It is with a heavy heart that I offer my sincere sympathies for the loss of Mrs. Hill. She was an amazing teacher. I loved running in to her at craft shows and football games. I especially loved receiving her family Christmas card every year. I pray for peace and comfort as every memory is held deep in your hearts. May She Rest In Peace.
