He retired in 1980 at rank of Senior Master Sergeant, having been awarded numerous medals and ribbons.
His second career was as an electronics technician with Harris Farinon lasting 20 years. After retiring the second time, Ralph and Carol loved to RV across Texas and the US. Throughout their 54 years of marriage, Ralph and Carol stayed active with activities and hobbies including bowling, pinochle, camping, scouting, fishing, traveling and chasing kids and grandkids. Ralph also spent his time woodworking and tinkering in his shop, volunteering with the Live Oak Police Department, serving at St John's Lutheran Church and with friends and family.
Depending when and where you knew him, he was known as Ralph, Ed or Dee. You also knew that Ralph never knew a stranger.
