Robert Burney Obituary

Robert Lee Burney, III, 76, of San Antonio, TX entered into the nearer presence of our Lord on December 30, 2022, after a long battle with cardiac and kidney issues.

Bob was born on April 17, 1946, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Robert Lee Burney, Jr, and Anne Adell Dion Burney. After graduating from Robert E Lee High School in 1964, he went on Texas A&M University, where he received a degree in Business Administration.

Bob worked with several contracting and construction firms before opening The Aggie Chimney Sweep in 1988. Bob quickly made a name for himself as one of the most distinguished, longest running Chimney Sweeps in San Antonio.

In 2017 Bob retired and spent his time hunting, watching football, and spending time catching up with friends.

He is survived by his wife Dasa Meadows Burney, his former wife Ferne Osman Burney, their daughters Meagan (Jason) Desbrow, Jessica (Chris) Dwyer, stepdaughter Shawn Meadows, stepson Kevin (Laura) Meadows, sisters, Anne Burney and Terri (David) Bisett, and 7 grandchildren.

Services will be held on January 26, 2023, at 4:00pm at Christ Episcopal Church, with a reception to follow at the San Antonio Gun Club.

Dasa.... It was so nice to meet you and see Bob after so many years. I so enjoyed his sharing with me his love of A&M and his office filled with so many memories. I am very sorry for your loss.
