Robert Eugene "Bob" Demmy

1929 - 2022

Robert Eugene "Bob" Demmy graduated on August 30, 2022. He is now with his Heavenly Father and his family.

Robert was born on the 19th of October, 1929, in Lebanon, PA. He was the youngest of 10 children. He graduated Lebanon High and went to work at various jobs. He met and courted Isabel Wolfe. They married in 1958.

He accepted a job with the Federal Government as a civil service employee. Eventually, they, along with many other Pennsylvania families, relocated to San Antonio, TX. They left their own families and the only life any of their extended families had known trading for a life in an unknown land.

He prospered in San Antonio swiftly moving up in his field. His only child, Lisa June Demmy, was born in 1964. In 1970 he and his family relocated to Fall Church, Virginia, where he worked at Cameron AFB.

In 1978 they relocated back to San Antonio. They had been active in Grace Presbyterian Church in San Antonio and returned to their many friends therein. Bob remained active professionally and religiously for many years.

In 1992 Bob followed President Clinton's admonishment and retired early. For the next thirty years he enjoyed his retirement by attending classes in opera, wine and finance. He liked to bowl. He attended and taught classes at the Academy of Learning In Retirement. He was an usher at the Majestic Theatre for many years. He enjoyed weekends at Mo-Ranch in Hunt, TX.

He and his son-in-law, Bow enjoyed many years of attending Mens Conference at Mo-Ranch.

He remained active at Grace Presbyterian Church watching his daughter sing in the choir and enjoying watching his grandchild Hannah grow up in the faith.

Robert is survived by his wife, Isabel Wolfe Demmy, his daughter and son-in-law, Lisa June Demmy Wood and Bertram Oliver Wood, and his granddaughter Hannah Maribel Wood. He also has many nieces and nephews. Most of them remain in the Lebanon PA area.

Arrangements are being made and will be announced at a later date.
