Robert & I met in the 7th grade . We both lived on Cherry Street & took the bus every morning to Poe Middle School. We became very good friends and our friendship continued on thru our Brack High School years & beyond. I still remember when he met Diane, he told me he was going to marry her some day and he did. We lost touch for a few years but we always seemed to reconnect. I was delighted to attend Their 50th Wedding Anniversary party. They were both beaming with happiness. I spoke to him on my Birthday (Sept). He was still the happy jovial Robert I knew from long ago.
Rest in peace my dear friend. “into paradise the angels will lead him”

Sylvia, Diana and Gilbert:
Our condolences for the loss of Robert. We all grew up together and remember when we all played together at your house. My grandparents owned Armond's Icehouse next door, and we took turns going with our father who worked there in the evenings so we could go over and play with all of you.
Several years ago, when I would take my mom to dinner, we ran into Robert and Diana several times at the restaurant. We had several conversations about our families. I mentioned to Robert that I had a memory of his parents when I was very young. He was surprised that I remembered his mom and dad on the front porch watching Sylvia and I trying to ride a bike. I even told him what they were wearing and how happy they were. He seemed so happy to hear about his parents.
Our heartfelt sympathies,
Elva

There are not enough words to express the amount of heartache we feel. Robert, we will miss you forever and never forget you. We will miss our neighborly chats and hearing all your stories. We learned a lot of life lessons from you over the past few years. You gave the best hugs and somehow you always knew when I needed an extra tight hug. I will miss your waves and saying “Hey kiddo! How’s it going?” You are the kindest, sweetest human being and I know your wife is happy to have you back with her. Give our pups Leo and Piper a huge hug for us! Until we see you again!!!
