ROBERT E. TATUM, JR.
August 8, 1937 - October 11, 2025
Robert E. Tatum Jr. passed away peacefully at home on October 11, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. A graduate of Texas Tech University and a proud U.S. Navy veteran, Robert lived a life filled with curiosity, humor, and generosity.
His career took him around the world. He lived in Hong Kong for five years while working for a pharmaceutical company and traveled extensively throughout South America and Southeast Asia before settling in Laredo, Texas, where he worked for International Bank of Commerce and Laredo National Bank.
Robert shared more than 60 years of marriage with his devoted wife, Alicia Tatum. He is survived by his daughters Pamela Tatum Montemayor and her husband Beto Montemayor, and Elizabeth Tatum; grandchildren Emilio Montemayor, Alexa Montemayor, Andres Montemayor, Alex Ryan, Sasha Tatum, Isabella Tatum, and Sofia Tatum; and his beloved great-grandson little Jean-Paul Tatum Landrus.
He is preceded in death by his parents Robert E. Tatum Sr. and Eloisa Tatum, his son Paul Tatum, and his grandson Jean-Paul Tatum.
Robert will be remembered for his love of music, art, antiques, and travel, and for the warmth and wisdom he shared with everyone he met.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, October 23, at 2:00 PM at St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church, 102 Lorenz Road, San Antonio, Texas, followed by a reception. Flowers are welcome and may be sent directly to the church.
