Robert Hal Thompson passed away May 10th, 2022 peacefully at his home surrounded by his family. He fought a courageous battle with cancer for 9 years and lived his life to the fullest. During those years, he loved to cruise, take long road trips, fish, hunt, grill, and smoke meats. He has been reunited with his father, William L. Thompson, and his sister Nancy Schwarzbach in Heaven. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Priscilla Thompson, his son, Tyler (Stephanie) Thompson, daughter Kelsie Thompson, mother Myrtle Thompson, brothers Bill (Judy) Thompson, Chris Thompson, and Jeff (Andrea) Thompson, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
After retiring from the Texas Railroad Commission, Hal went on to a career with Murphy Oil Corporation as a safety officer before retiring again to concentrate on his heath. Tyler and Kelsie were the joy of his life and was always the happiest when they were around. He was a member of Community Bible Church, watching every Saturday online due to his heath.
A celebration of Hal's life party will be held on Saturday, May 21st from 1:00pm-3:00pm at the Helotes Lion's Club, 14690 Bandera Rd. His family would like to invite all to come for food and fellowship to share remembrances of Hal.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. Jude's Children Hospital to give children with cancer a fighting chance as this organization was close to his heart. An online memorial fund has been set up with St. Jude's. To reach this online memorial fund, search for "Robert Hal Thompson" under St. Jude's Gift Fund.

Hal was always a blessing to talk with and share. He loved his Family and his Country. Our prayers are with Priscilla, Tyler and Kelsie. God bless you all.

So very sorry to read about Hal´s passing. We went to school together (1st -12th) in Devine and he was one of the kindest people... I remember his athleticism, his leadership as a senior class officer, joking around in class, but above all, again, his kindness. Please accept my deepest sympathy. God bless. Glenda (Chant) Allen
