His light grew dim and his bright smile was no longer here for us to see. The Lord reached out and said "My son come with me." Together they went to Heaven's door. Such a glorious place he has never seen before. Upon his arrival the Lord said
"My son you can rest now from all your toils and trials: all your good deeds have followed you here." (Rev. 14:13)
Your Loved ones will miss you and feel time has gone fast. But we will soon realize that you are home at last.
Mary, Paul and James we have you in our prayers.
Love,

Aunt Mary, Paul and James,
Our prayers are with you in these difficult times. LeRoy was definitely one of a kind. He brightened the room everytime that we saw him. We loved his nicknames for people and his unique storytelling. Words are inadequate to describe our sorrow and sympathy for you.

Mrs. Conatzer and Family,
I worked under Roy for 3 years at the Brooks Swimming Pool and I have to say he was the best boss that I'd ever had. There were many days I'd walk over to his office just to shoot the breeze, or get yelled at depending on the situation. But no matter what, Roy was always there for me. After graduating college, I was interviewed for my position as an elementary physical education teacher, were my current boss called Roy as my reference. She later laughed when she told me that when she spoke to Roy he told her that she'd be a fool not to hire me! It's statements like that that made me smile and say, "That's Roy."
It means so much to me that you were able to make it to my wedding. I couldn't see celebrating the day without him there.
Roy was Great and he will be missed by many!

Dear Friends and Family of Mr. Roy Conatzer:
It is with deepest sadness that I extend my condolences to you on the loss of your beloved. There are no words that I can say that will make your loss any easier. However, I would like you to know that I am sincerely thankful for his bravery and great sacrifice to our great country.
As Chair of the Senate Committee on Veteran Affairs and Military Installations, I pray that the deep hurt you feel is in some part eased by the feeling of great pride for his valor and deep sense of patriotism.
He will be dearly missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known him. May God give you and yours strength and courage. May the love and the wonderful memories you shared with him help you when you need it most. Please know that he will never be forgotten and your family will be remembered in my prayers.

I read the following passage below at Roy's retirement which summed up the man he was, a warrior and patriot:
"I stood up, I showed up, I stepped forward.
I raised my right hand, I stood in the gap, I walked in the fire.
I did not run, I did not hide, I did not dodge, I did not evade."
Consequently...I have nothing to prove, no one to convince,
those who matter, already know. Those who don't, never will.

Wish I was there for the family. I will truly miss a good friend and a great boss. Had so many great times and fond memories with Roy and his family. We were one big family when we were all stationed together at Goose Bay Air Force Base. Really do miss those times together, would have been great to do them one more time. A great person has left us now. A proud man a great soldier and one great friend of mine. He has left so many friends who will always remember him. Take Care Roy, you are now with the Lord, rest in peace. ....Mark Halbisen, Fairborn, Ohio.

Mary and Family,
I was so sorry to hear about Roy. He was a kind and caring person who always had time to listen to you. We always enjoyed Roy's company whenever he came into the NAF accounting office and had many a good laugh. Roy was a good friend and he will be missed by all.

Mary and family I was sorry to hear about Roy. He will truly be missed by all who knew him. I remember the good times we shared while working out in the gym and how he was a true professional and took everything in stride and with a smile on his face while undergoing the conversion to the city-base. We will be thinking of you in this trying time but remember one day you will be together again.

Mrs Conatzer and Family,
You are in our prayers as we call on God to give you comfort in your loss. Roy was a remarkable man and a special friend. We will truly miss him but he is now in a place where there are no more tears and no more pain. The bible says weeping is for a night; joy comes in the morning. May your joy be returned to you soon. We love you and send our blessings.

Mrs. Conatzer and Family,
I work at Brooks City-Base and knew Roy while working here. We had some great laughs and some good serious talks. I was very saddened to hear today that Roy had passed away. I had inquired about Roy about a week ago and knew that he was extremely ill.
I will miss Roy and his great poems he would write for many an occasion. I'm sure all who knew Roy will miss and remember Roy fondly. Please accept my deepest sympathies. Barbara Kelly, Brooks City-Base
