Severita Quintana

February 12, 1936 - January 22, 2016
Rita was born to Lydia Newman in San Antonio, TX on February 12, 1936. She was raised by her mother and grandparents, George and Anita Hontgias. She went to Incarnate Word from grade school thru College where she received her degree in Education. Rita married Robert Quintana on July 18, 1959, and was very proud of her successful and wonderful marriage. After many years as a Special Education teacher, she then pursued and received her Masters Degree in Special Education from UTSA. After retirement, she consulted in Special Education for SAISD for many years. The following years she enjoyed shopping, visiting with friends and family, especially her grandchildren. She and her dear friend, Lillian Dutson volunteered at the Fiesta Store and spent many hours making Fiesta wreaths. She spent hours on the phone with her dear friends Martha Hernandez, Lupita Palacios, Carmen Contreras and Evelia Macias. She was most recently named "Senior Prom Queen" at the Landings at Stone Oak, where she last resided. She was very proud of her 3 daughters, Roberta Quintana, Renetta Quintana and Rhoda Davila and husband Albert; 3 grandchildren, Maddie Davila Patrick and husband Gary, Jacob Davila and Jordan Davila. Rita is preceded in death by her loving husband Robert and her brother George Vasquez.

SERVICES

A Prayer Vigil will be held at 7:00 PM on Monday, February 1, 2016 at St. Matthews Catholic Church. Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at St. Matthews Catholic Church with inurnment to follow at San Fernando #2 Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements with
