Shirley Pilar Perez-Flores, 81, of San Antonio, Texas, passed away on October 28, 2025, in San Antonio.
Born on November 13, 1943, in The Bronx, New York City, to Gil Antonio Perez and Epifania Ramona Cardona of San German, Puerto Rico, Shirley pursued a nursing degree at Catholic Hospital de la Concepcion in San German. She served with compassion as a nurse at La Concepcion Hospital, Centro Medico Hospital, and Hospital Perea in Puerto Rico for more than a decade.
On August 8, 1975, she married Andres Flores-Santana at Santa Rosa de Lima Catholic Church in San German. As an Army wife for more than 20 years and loving mother of three, Shirley created a welcoming home wherever life took them, touching many lives through her kindness and care.
A devoted parishioner of St. Matthew Catholic Church in San Antonio, she was active in the Legion of Mary and Pro-Life ministry. Her faith and caring spirit inspired all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband Andres; her sons, Andres Flores-Perez, Fr. Miguel R. Flores-Perez, and Carlos Flores-Perez; her grandson, Alejandro Flores-DeLoof; her sister, Maria Perez Cardona; her brother, Antolin Perez Cardona; and her beloved extended family, including many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings.
Visitation will be 6:00–9:00 PM Thursday, November 20, 2025, at Our Lady of the Atonement Catholic Church, with a Rosary at 7:00 PM followed by Vespers at 7:40 PM and Vigil Rite at 8:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be 9:45 AM Friday, November 21, 2025, at St. Matthew Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, with a Repast to follow at St. Matthew's.
Memorials may be given to St. Matthew Catholic Church Pro-Life Ministry or a charity of choice.
