Thomas Henslee Obituary
Thomas L. Henslee passed away on Sunday, August 28, 2016. He was preceded in death by his parents, U.N. and Cora (Ottmers) Henslee; his younger sister, Ruth Brown and older brothers, Norville and James.
He was born on December 20, 1934 in Comal County and graduated from Austin Travis High School in 1954. Tom met his wife, Peggy (Dunning), while attending Trinity University (1958). She preceded him in death on January 27, 2014, after 53 years of marriage. He was a First Lieutenant in the Army, he coached the Highlands Owls state championship baseball team in 1968, led many tours of San Antonio and the Hill Country, and was a 32nd degree Mason and a Shriner for 51 years.
Tom is survived by his son, Alex and wife Susanne, and his daughter, Lisa and husband Joe Garza; grandchildren, Ashlyn Henslee, Bryan Richardson, Aimee Richardson and Dustin Garza; great-grandchildren, Aubrey and Wynter Richardson; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 17, 2016 at 10am at Westover Hills Assembly of God, 9340 Westover Hills Blvd. In lieu of flowers, Tom requested contributions be made to the Shriners Children's Hospital (www.shrinershospitalfor
children.org).
