Tomas Estrada Obituary
Tomas P. Estrada went with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Monday June 6, 2011 at the age of 85. Born in Gogorron, San Luis Potosi, Mexico, he came to San Antonio then to Chicago for a few years, and finally settled back San Antonio in 1958. As a welder/iron worker he was nick named "EL MASO" (Sledge Hammer), in those days Iron work was created with a sledge hammer. He was a hard worker, savvy business man and an excellent welder. He taught his children the value of hard work and determination. In 1970 he was paralyzed, but with his faith he received a miracle and made a promise to serve the Lord from then on. After attending many different churches he found his place in the ministry at Galvan Revivals where he and his family attended regularly. After a few years, he set out on his own and began ministering at Community Church. Today you can find his eldest son and daughter continuing the ministry at Community Church. Tomas is survived by his devoted wife of 60 years, two sons, three daughters, seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Special thanks to VITAS Hospice Care.The Family expresses their sincere appreciation to VITAS Hospice and their staff for their care and support. They have been very gracious and caring.
SERVICES
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 12, 2011 from 5:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M., with prayer services held at 7:00 P.M. at Chapel Hill Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Monday June 13, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. followed by burial at Chapel Hills Funeral Park.
