Victoria Brown Fields Obituary

Victoria "Vicky" Brown Fields
September 6, 1951 - November 15, 2025
Victoria "Vicky" Brown Fields was called home by her Lord and Savior on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at the age of 74.
Born on September 6, 1951, in Havana, Cuba, Vicky was the identical twin daughter of Melville Carroll Brown and Jean Beveridge Brown. She spent her childhood in Cuba, Florida, New Jersey, and the Republic of Panama, graduating from Balboa High School, Panama Canal Zone in 1969. In 1973, she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Georgia, where she became a lifelong Georgia football fan.
After college, Vicky returned to Panama and began a long career in civil service, working for the Canal Zone Government/Panama Canal Company and the U.S. Army. There, she met her future husband, Major William R. "Ray" Fields, II, at the U.S. Army Headquarters at Quarry Heights. They married in June 1977, and Vicky lovingly embraced his five children as part of her own family. She later earned a Master of Science degree from St. Mary's University while working full-time for the Department of Defense at Fort Sam Houston, ultimately serving 32 years as a DoD civilian.
Vicky had a deep love for animals, especially dogs and horses. She and Ray cared for many rescue dogs during their marriage, including Luna, the last adopted dog. She generously supported numerous animal charities, with a special affection for Clydesdales, miniature donkeys, and wildlife causes. She was a dedicated Patreon of the YouTube's Homestead Horsemanship channel and especially enjoyed their videos featuring Oliver, the rescued Clydesdale stallion.
Vicky was preceded in death by her parents and by her husband of 48 years, Ray Fields. She is survived by her sisters, Catherine Brown Crescioni and Valerie Joy Brown; her nephew, Francisco "Frankie" Antonio Crescioni V (Samantha); five step-children, William R. "Ray" Fields, III (Connie), David W. Fields, Katherine M. Fields, Eric M. Fields (Lynn), and Tanya L. Fields (Sue); nine step-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.
Her family and friends will remember Vicky for her faith, warmth, humor, and her enduring compassion for both people and animals.
