Virginia Dee McBee Wahlers
Virginia Dee McBee Wahlers was born on May 7, 1959 in San Antonio to Joanna Steubing and Milton McBee and welcomed into the world by big sister Kathy McBee Harris and big brother Michael Steubing Crevier. The family would be complete with the arrival in 1961 by a baby brother, Mark Robin McBee. She is lovingly survived by her only son Darian Lynn Crevier. She is also survived by nieces: Amanda May Gordon and Husband Ron Gaham, Samantha Gerlach and sons JT and Walter, nephew A. Michael Gordon and wife Cassandra, Syndi Haynes and daughters Kristine, Ashley, and grand-nephew Gavin, grand-nephews Patrick, Corbin, and grand-niece Skylee children of deceased niece Shavonne Smith, and Mark's daughter, Nicole Bowers. The family was and remains incredibly close
Ginger was a very loving and caring person to all who knew her and always kind to anyone she met. Having taught for a number of years in several elementary schools within Austin independent school district and for a period was outside the classroom as a peer observer assisting other teachers with skills she learned from her own life experiences both in classrooms and in many other supervisory positions through her life.
She held a Bachelor's degree Summa com Laude from Texas State University and a Master's Degree graduating with honors from The University of Texas in Arlington.
Having completed studies in Grief Counseling she often demonstrated her special skills and abilities with those experiencing loss in their lives. She was also very involved in her Church's Grief support program at Berkeley United Methodist Church in Austin, Texas. Ultimately her plans included establishing a grief counseling center in her home.
She was an active member of the many PTA and PTSA programs during the time of Darian's school years and during her career in elementary education holding campus Teacher of the Year and other honors. She enjoyed countless lifelong friendships with countless friends in Texas, Florida and throughout the USA. She was so very proud of her German and British Heritage that encompassed pre -Texas independence and statehood of which her ancestry was instrumental in securing.
She loved to dance, listen to music venues and read. She had a passion for her faith, travel and strange occurrences in places throughout Texas and the USA.
Funeral services will be held in San Antonio at Mission Park North on Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at 12 noon with internment to follow at the Zion Lutheran Church cemetery #1 family plot in Helotes, Texas joining generations of ancestors. A memorial service will be held in Austin, Texas which is yet to be determined .
