Walter Denman Obituary

Walter Lee Denman, age 80, entered into eternal life on April 17, 2005. Walter was born August 18, 1924 in McComb, MS to William and Hughetta Denman. He served in the Navy on Attu Island, during WWII and was called back into the Navy for the Korean Confict, where he served from 1950 to 1952 in the amphibious force in the Pacific. Upon being honorably discharged, Walter went to work for the Air Force as a Procurement Officer. Walter negotiated the contract for the liquid oxygen for the first lift off into space. Walter also was proud that he contracted the first ejection seat for the Air Force fighter planes. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Marie, and their three children, Walter Lee Denman Jr. of Marietta GA, Linda Anne Ford of Tuscaloosa, AL, James William Denman of Helotes, and eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren. A Rosary will be recited on Tuesday April 19, 2005 at 7:00 pm and a funeral Mass will be celebrated at 8:30 am at St. Anthony Claret Catholic Church, 6150 Roft Rd, San Antonio 78253. Burial will be at Ft. Sam National Cemetery with Military Honors. In lieu of flowers you are invited to contribute to St. Anthony Claret Catholic Church's Building Fund.
