Wayne Burr Pittman, 78, went to be with his Lord and Savior on July 19, 2024. He was born September 10, 1945 in San Antonio, Texas to Burr Henry Pittman and Mary Louise Griesenbeck. At 16, Wayne shooed the chickens out of a 1933 Plymouth, took it home and restored it with his father's help. Cars, motorcycles and loud powerful engines became a lifelong passion. He could work on almost anything. Wayne joined the Marine Corps after high school and became an aircraft mechanic. He served two tours in Vietnam, received an honorable discharge and returned home. He went to work for Missouri Pacific Railroad and still met with his railroad buddies regularly. Wayne was known for his quick wit and sense of humor, traits that he passed on to his children and grandchildren who, along with his wife, will miss him dearly.

Wayne is preceded in death by his parents, Burr and Mary Pittman, and sister, Joan Hill.

Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Barbara Jauer Pittman; children, Judith (Aldo) Tackitt, Cher (Will) Kerlick, Steven Pittman, Angela Pittman, Jacob (Natasha) Pittman and Matthew (Christina) Pittman; sister, Linda Melenyzer; eleven grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
