Billy was a wonderful friend who changed my life for the better.
I met Billy, Tommie and Cecil at the Catholic Youth Club in 1952. I had recently served four years in the U S Navy and had found a Civil Service job at Kelly Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. Billy asked why I wasn't going to college. I said I thought I could not qualify since I had completed only two years of high school. Billy took me to talk to Brother Treadway who spent an hour talking to me about my navy experience. Brother Treadway allowed me to enroll at St. Mary's University with conditional approval. This allowed me to complete missing credits and I was able to graduate in 1958 with a B A degree in English.
If Billy had not seen abilities in me that I did not see, I might have had a career in Civil Service, instead, I have had a 50 year successful career in Real Estate. I have always been grateful for his friendship and foresight.

Mr. Toudouze, you have always been a stalwart role model for me growing up. I feel so fortunate to have you as a long-time neighbor and a shining example of an overall strong, affable and caring person. Likewise, I’ll always remember that you were resilient in your Catholicism, and faithful to your wife, family, and friends. God bless Mr. and Mrs. Toudouze and their family.
