It is with sorrowful hearts we announce the passing of Albert Magnus Bernard Nienhaus of
Escondido, California, age 91. Albert was born in Muenster, Germany July 12, 1932, and he died peacefully on June 22nd, 2024, in
Escondido, California.He is survived by his wife Elizabeth Mary Nartker Nienhaus. June 3rd, 2024 marked their 63rd wedding anniversary.Children: Lawrence Josef, Mark David (Beth Walker), Maria Annette Fitzgerald (Jeffrey Edmond FitzGerald), and Christopher Casper Nienhaus.Grandchildren- Holly, Desire, Nicole, Alexa, Renee, Juliet, Casey, Joshua, Katarina. Great-grandchildren-Julian, Skadi, Steven.Siblings- Aloys RIP (Jeanne Kemper) Cecilia Mispelkamp RIP (Herbert RIP), Maria, Reinhold RIP (Gerlinda Beranek), Christal Biebersdorf (Herbert RIP), Bernhard Nienhaus (Hedwig Ripensell), Ursula Kramer (Max RIP), Elisabeth Noller (Ulrich), Annette RIP, and Josef RIP. Albert was preceded in death by his mother, Maria Ebbing Nienhaus and his Father Aloysius Nienhaus.He had a degree in accounting and was a computer programmer for NCR for over 30 years. He was a bookkeeper for St. Timothy's parish and a Knight of Columbus. He grew up in Germany during WW2 and shared many stories of the things he saw and experienced from age 7-13. Albert suffered a lot the last 7 years with hip replacement surgeries, infections, hospital and rehab stays, getting off a ventilator and being away from his loved ones. He was not a complainer and amazed his family and friends by his strength through such pain.Albert cheered many in rehab with his colorful Hawaiian shirts. In honor of Albert, feel free to wear your colorful Hawaiian attire for the funeral. Albert donated his body to UCSD Medical Center.Funeral Mass will be held July 23, 9:45am Rosary decade, 10am Mass, at St. Timothy's Catholic Church located at 2960 Canyon Road,
Escondido, California 92025.In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to donate to your local food bank.
