Anna Smith Obituary

Anna Lou Smith, age 90, passed away peacefully in her home on the morning of November 10, 2023, surrounded by family, following complications from an earlier fall.
Anna Lou was born as Anna Lousie Quicker on December 13, 1932, in San Diego to Albert John and Margaret Quicker. She grew up with one sister, Margie, deceased, and one brother, John, currently living in Grants Pass Oregon. She graduated from Grossmont High School in 1950, where she met and later married Marvin Smith, her husband of 73 years with whom she had three sons, Larry, Jerry and Steve. Anna Lou will be remembered as a compassionate and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Anna Lou worked for the San Diego County Tax Assessor's office for over 20 years. After retiring, she enjoyed working with special needs children and their teachers at Flying Hills and later Chase Avenue elementary schools, to make Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter holidays each a special event for the kids, retiring at 88 years old when Covid hit.
Anna Lou is survived by her husband, Marvin; their three sons Larry, Jerry, Steve and her two daughters-in-law, Evelyn and Loree; her grandchildren Cari, Kelly, Chris, Ben, Tom, Danny, Megan and her great-grandchildren Zack, Lucas, Elizabeth, Ian, Serena, Cayla, Alina, Gavin, Tyler, Haylie, Kalyn, Dakodah, Ronin and Rylee.

Sending condolences to Marvin and family. I remember Anna Lou a wonderful woman who loved her husband and family. I would see her with Marvin occasionally near their place on the bay, out having fun together. That love is eternal. May she rest peacefully.
