Benjamin Parker Fischlowitz January 22, 1972 - February 9, 2018 San Diego Ben Fischlowitz, age 46, died peacefully in his San Diego home. Ben was born in Vietnam, and adopted in 1975 in Maryland, by Merle Fischlowitz (San Diego) and Barbara Fischlowitz (now Barbara Fischlowitz-Leong, Honolulu, HI),who knew Ben had polio in Vietnam. With leg braces he learned to walk on his own. When Ben was 4 the family moved to Honolulu. As a child, he loved physical activity, learning to ride a two-wheel bike,playing goalie on AYSO soccer team, and wrestling in high school. He graduated from Punahou School; earned BFA from Chapman University, Orange, CA, and MFA from California Center for the Arts, Pasadena. He worked as a freelance artist. Ben made many friends in his favorite coffee shops and fine restaurants. He enjoyed lifeand rarely spoke of his childhood or his medical problems. Ben is survived his parents; his sister Dr. Sara F. Davis, (James T., Honolulu); half-sister Elodie F. McAllister, Florida; and half-brothers Arlen Fischlowitz (Patti) of Florida, Richard (Tammy) and Robert Fischlowitz of San Diego; and veryclose friend Olga Keegan, San Diego; as well as many loving nieces and nephews. Funeral services have been held in Honolulu.
