Clara Burns

Clara Burns, 84 ESCONDIDO ---- Clara Burns, 84, died Wednesday, May 2, 2007, at home. Born Jan. 8, 1923, in Wizbang, Okla., she lived in Escondido. She and her husband owned Valley Lincoln Mercury Automobile Agency in El Cajon. They retired in 1989. She was active in civic affairs and enjoyed playing golf, and was an avid golf fan. Mrs. Burns was preceded in death by her father Alonzo Jones in 1933, mother Majoria (Beaty) Jones. She is survived by her step-son R.K. Burns and brother William S. Jones. Memorial services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, June 30, at Lutheran Light of the Valley Church, 28330 Lilac Rd., Valley Center. A reception will follow from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Josephine Room. Interment is planned at 2 p.m. Monday, July 2 at El Cajon Cemetery. Cremation Services Inc. is handling arrangements.
