Dale Shea Obituary

Dale Dennis Shea Jr November 2, 1943 - December 14, 2015 SAN DIEGO Dale Dennis Shea, Jr., known to many as Denny, passed away unexpectedly December 14, 2015. His death was caused by complications from a condition that happens to many athletes, thickening of the artery walls (atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease).Born on November 2, 1943 in Montebello, CA, it was his family move to Twin Oaks Circle in Chula Vista a few years later where he made life long friends and San Diego became home. He graduated from Chula Vista High in 1962. He went on to earn his B.S. in Mathematics from SDSU, where he met his wife of 47 years Margaret (Hinton) Shea.Following an internship with General Dynamics, Univac hired Denny where he began his long career as a civilian computer programmer supporting the Navy, concluding with his own company Computer Solutions in 2004. Denny was passionate about all of his interests: cars, house remodels, fitness, nutrition, and much more. There was no goal, challenge, or project too big for Denny and he was happiest when he could share his pursuits with family and friends. This past August, Denny completed his 30th consecutive AFC Half Marathon and was determined to run many more. His family is comforted by how he spent his last Sunday, an early morning 26-mile bike ride from Seaport Village out to Coronado where he undoubtedly enjoyed the sights and sounds of the city he loved. Denny lived life to the fullest, loved his friends and family deeply, and will be missed by many. He is survived by his wife, Margaret; their children, Jennifer, Patrick, and Michael; Jennifer's partner, John; former son-in-law, Steve; granddaughters, Madison and Delaney; sister, Carolyn and brother-in-law, Jay Jay; a large extended family and many cherished friends.A memorial service will be held at Christ the King Episcopal Church, 1460 Midway Drive, Alpine, CA on Tuesday, December 22nd at 11:00 a.m., followed by a Celebration of Life at ZLAC Rowing Club, 1111 Pacific Beach Drive, San Diego, CA. Denny was my landlord in El Cajon from late 90ies until 2004. He was a wonderful man, so helpful. I am very shocked to see this. Today I found his business card that fell out of a book. It made me think of trying to contact him to see how he has been after all these years. I am truly sorry to see this notice. My Deepest condolences to his family, I am so sorry for your loss.

Denny was one of my all time best-est pals and all around great human. Denny was the worst volleyball player I ever knew but my favorite guy to play with, we hardly ever won, if ever, but we always had the greatest time. I will miss those times together but always hold them in my memory.

How so very sad to read of Denny's passing. He was a kind and generous man with a very good heart, one I was proud to have known for more than 35 years. We are so sorry for his wife, Margaret, and his three children, and his grandchildren. He was a good man.
