David Heath Obituary

David Paul Heath - husband, father, 'granfer,' actor, voiceover artist and jack-of-all-trades passed away on Sunday, August 14, 2022, from pancreatic cancer. David will be remembered for his notable acting career, along with his generous nature, grounded humility, goofy sense of humor, and epic bear hugs. But most of all, he will be remembered for his steadfast faith in Jesus. David's legacy is carried on by his wife Beth and their children Carrie and Allan, Allan's wife Ava, and his two precious granddaughters, Tatum and Tessa. I remember that any days of building or tearing down sets with Dave at Lamb´s Players. He was always steady and adroitly fielded my off the wall humor.

Anyone who hears his audio recordings of the Bible can easily recognize a love of God and His Word in every passage.

David's voice has been my favorite to listen to through the years, since I discovered the ESV Bible app. The news that he is now with the Lord saddened me today. God blessed me so much through David's Scripture readings. May David's family and loved ones be comforted through the prayers and heartfelt sympathy expressed by all who care for him. I believe that the Lord has been exalted and glorified by the exceptional service of this brother in Christ. May the Lord continue to expand the legacy David has left. His labor made a difference in expanding the Kingdom of God. Glory to God in the highest!

I just wanted to say, although deeply saddened to have looked up David Cochran Heath, only to find his obituary, his voice lives on in Bible.com's ESV. My daughter and I listen to his voice as he reads the Bible, and are really thankful. His expressiveness, his obvious love of the Scriptures, and his respect for the Word of God, has brought us so very much good. God bless all of you, his loved ones. I am so very sorry for your loss.

I´m reading and studying the Bible again this year and this time, it´s with the ESV. I had to find out whose voice this was! What a marvelous reading by someone who obviously loved God. His voice makes the Scriptures and even the voice of The Lord just come alive! I know he will always be missed by those who knew him, but I also know that you realize that he is making a difference in people´s lives constantly! I prefer his version to all others, and will continue to use it for the rest of my days. God bless you all.

With the holidays approaching I was thinking about Dave and his family and always in my prayers.
I was remembering Dave teaching me to drive is stick shift back in the day, in our early twenties. He as I remember had an old Valient, which had what they three on the tree. So you had to use the foot pedal but shift gears by the gear shifter which was up on the steering column.
We practiced and I kept stalling the car out. I needed to go so he made me drive his car, alone!!! I must of stalled his car through 3 lights! I was so nervous, but made it back.
He laughed so much when I told him!!!
I miss you Dave and I know you will be in line to greet me when I get there!!!

How I wish I had contacted David Cochran Heath the first time the idea came to mind - before the summer of 2022! I deeply appreciate his reading of the (ESV) Bible. God used David's voice to highlight His voice speaking through the Scriptures.

Thank You Father for this enriched way of hearing Your word, and for the life and testimony of David Cochran Heath.

God of all comfort, may You continue to comfort Beth, Carrie and Allan as only You can.

I just found out about David´s passing, and remember him every time I listen to YouVersion's Bible app every day. Now he is talking with Jesus and all the Bible people he narrated in person. So sorry for your loss. I love that his voice lives on as a comfort to so many as it was for me as I read along while he narrated the bible to me. He made my commitment to reading the entire bible more pleasurable and comprehensive. I appreciate his commitment to recording the entire Bible which says a lot about him as a person. I, too, have been touched by Davis´s reading of the scripture. I´m a voice actor myself and whenever I read scripture in church, I always listen to his recordings of scripture prior to reading them aloud. He´s taking me through the Bible in a year for 2023. Blessings.
