David Kevin Landuyt

Dave was the youngest child of Geraldine and David Landuyt. He was born in San Jose, California, and attended Lynbrook High School before college at De Anza Junior College and San Jose State University, from which he graduated in 1980. As the youngest child in his family, Dave was often the center of attention and his antics became the subject of many family stories. Dave matured into a kind and very warm spirited adult with a wonderful sense of humor and a ready laugh. He loved animals and they him. After graduation from college, Dave moved to Las Vegas for a few years to assist his mother, subsequently returning to the SF Bay Area. In 2006, Dave relocated from the Bay Area to San Diego where he had since lived. He worked for many years at a San Diego food bank assisting families in need. Dave has been a sober member of Alcoholics Anonymous for the past 15 years and has made many friends through the fellowship.He is survived by his father Robert David of St. Petersburg, Florida, his sister Penny of Colorado, and his brother Stephen of San Diego. His mother, Geri, predeceased him in 1996. Dave will be missed by all who had the good fortune to know him.

Dave was a great addition to any dinner table - always current with the news and ideas and information. He had a quiet, subtle, and dry sense of humor that I loved. He also had that certain kindness and gentleness that attracted cats (ha! they KNOW). I'm going to miss him a lot.
