My uncle, David Rafkin, was one of the finest people I ever have had the pleasure to know. My life would not have been the same, or as full, without his presence, particularly during my childhood. My wife Caryn and I mourn his loss,

Dear Joyce and family, Our deepest sympathies on Dave's death. Once the tears dry, I can only smile when I think of Dave. He was a dear man who loved his family. I was blessed to know him and be able to work with him. He was a gifted Speech Therapist and even more gifted person. We miss him. Love, Didi

Even 3000 miles away, we were afforded the great opportunity to know David. He quickly became a favorite uncle! We appreciated his sense of humor, love for family, and enthusiasm for life. He bravely fought for so long and won so many battles against his illness; we're proud of his courage. We will miss him but take some comfort in knowing he is no longer in pain.

I knew when I sent the note to you last week,

that prayers would not be "enough". But no matter what we all knew was coming, the reality is surely devasting. David will be remembered in happy ways by many people.

And your own happy memories of a great life with him will sustain you -- for sure.

Fondly,

Mitch & Pam Dembowski
