Looking at all these pictures of Eric and the other kids I remember the one with the angel wings on the boys, "The three Musketeers" Reminds me of my three boys so much. I only remember Eric as a kindergarten child but in all these years of hard work and accomplishments you must be proud of your exceptional young Man. Thank you for your kindness and support in my time of loss as well. You are all always in my thoughts and prayers. We celebrate Eric's Life with you.
I went to the beach to gather my thoughts and call my loved ones, and on the beach I made this. Like writing in the sand, Eric made his mark.

Cynthia and Roy,
I never really knew eric, so all I can do is say how very sorry i am for your loss and pain. I am sure it is overwhelming at times. and, wish you God speed on your healing. although we know God. and, our faith tells us, eric is in gods arms now...And, yes this does comfort our spirit just knowing this is true. but, it covers half of our grief. not all of it. as human beings, we find ourselves saturated with the memories of time spent together. it is a physical recall. were we go through withdrawls for the void to be filled again..like it is in life, this life. real time. were we could get on a phone to talk or drive to see them. this is the part that haunts us after weve lost someone. and this is the part where faith can fail us. this is where we have to somehow swallow the lump and move on. we tend to go over and over things we couldve or shouldve done differently blaming ourselves even others becoming consumed by grief even though we know they are with the angels.so it seems to me we must suffer without faith to completley heal.. so cry as hard as you can. and let yourself cry out why me if needed.. just dont worry about losing faith.. one min youll be thanking the heavens. while the next, you could be shaking yor fist at it. I know your a great mother and you have a great man beside you and he is a great father I can say without hesitation that youve put all your love into your children and your children are gifted in kindness and spirit. I now youve done this because of how very important it is to instill a concience of God. AND you did good ... eric is gone away too soon.they say, (only the good die young).... you will miss him as long as you live. he will always be your little boy. I wish it never happened ........ I send my love.. my family has all felt the saddness. and, have sent their love too. wish you all a happy life ahead ... Your big brother mike ...

Dear Eric,
I honestly couldn't put in words how much I miss you! You were amazing! So strong, in every way. It takes a special kind of strength to put ur mind to something and make it happen. You always lived that way though! Brennan misses you a lot and talks about you all the time. He was asking the other day why you have to be gone forever, there is no fair way to answer that. I will forever wish I could just have one more everything we ever shared! Thank you for everything you brought to our lives...I will never let you fade!

How could I ever possibly write all that you mean to me? I simply Cannot....but I do want the world to know how very special you are to me. The moment I laid my eyes on you, I felt a bond. You were just the most beautiful baby boy. As a toddler you could make me laugh, smile and angry within a matter of minutes. Oh, but how proud you made me with determination and faithfulness about you. And as I watched your journey to becoming a fine young man, I could see how much you taught me and others around you. Struggles that you may have were only ways of rising to the top, and you did just that in whatever you set your mind to do. When you boys moved so far away, I never did forget you, I thoroughly enjoyed the summers you stayed with us...would not trade them for the world. I only wished for more...but I will have more someday when we meet on the streets of gold... As for now you live in my heart, always on my mind and every now and then, I can hear you say "Everything's okay Auntie". So grateful to know I have treasures laid up in heaven awaiting me. I love you Eric!

I Can See You…
A dedication to my Precious Little Cousin Eric Joshua Dobles (read at his funeral)
I can see you as the beautiful baby you were, with those big blue eyes and soft blond curls.
You were so cute, chunky, and sweet,
all who saw you wanted to posses their own piece.
But you were all ours, our little shinning star, no baby compared regardless how near or far.
I can see you as the little rascal kid you were, you thought you were all that, the type to go for a homerun hit any time you got a chance to bat.
My 3 Dobles boys and you were the captain, the type of boy who wanted to move mountains.
A stubborn little kid always trying to hang out, but a real cool kid others just had a hard time figuring out.
I can see you as the teenager you were, actin' all California Cool, making your stamp that the older brother rules.
You picked on your brothers, but that's what big bros do, you helped make them tougher, a secret you must of knew.
I could see the young man in you developing, not sure what to expect, but you turned out rather nicely despite any long shot bets.
You found yourself and pushed what you could be, and made the mature grownup decision to become a United States Marine.
I can see you as the Marine you were meant to be, helping restore freedom and justice overseas.
The Military will never know how blessed they had become, because boot camp is the only obstacle you had the chance to overcome.
You may not have been able to win the battle for the states, but you have conquered a war at home and unlocked forgotten gates.
You have allowed us to come together as a family to celebrate who you were,
a mission you settled on your own by creating such a stir.
God has helped this family's unity that has been missed for quite sometime, it's something only your stubborn, yet wonderful self could have helped design.
But you knew what your were doing and left us with the gift of love, a priceless sacrifice that will always be beyond and above.
And the honorable giving continued even after you died, by donating all you had left to save dozens more and leave us with the glory of pride.
I can see you as an angel watching over us now, although I am very sad I don't ask why and how.
You had found God, and even led your platoon as prayer leader we're so proud, you were spiritually ready to meet our heavenly father and leave us on Earth's ground.
I always wondered what is the meaning of the Marines phrase, “Semper Fidelis”, now I know it means “Always Faithful”, and when it comes to you there is nothing less
I am attempting to find serenity that you couldn't have gone at a time when you would have been more perfect then you were at this moment.
You were taken still in innocence before being impacted by violent battle stations, and the stress of sinful adult life temptations.
I attempt to find peace in telling myself at least, it happened at home and not over seas;
where we may not have been able to find you under rubble and stone
and have the honor and closure to properly send you home.
But the pain is still strong with no fault to blame, cause all got destroyed and our next weekend plans never came.
But I can see you now as I look at your parents who I admire due to their bond, because their faith and belief has kept the family strong.
I can see you now as I look at your brothers who will always miss their big bro., but will be tough like you taught them to be as they grow.
I can see you in the family, every time I see us enjoying each others company.
I can see you in the church, every time a youth raises their arms in praise, because you were a good role model from the way you were raised.
I will see you in the world whenever we give honor and celebrate our fallen soldiers.
I see you whenever I pray, because I know you're in heaven and I have faith I will see you again someday.
With unconditional love,
Your Big Cuzzy,
-Tanisha Martin-Chiles

Cousin to cousin we will always be Best Friends from the same family tree. Eric you always have and always will have a special place in my heart. What I loved most is we could go days, months mabye even years without seeing or talking to eachother and pick up right were we left off everytime like we had not let a second go by. Even when you moved to fairfield distance never kept us apart. I love and cherish all the moments when we didnt have to say a thing and yet somehow we new exactly what the other was thinking and would burst out in laughs those were good times I miss them already! You had a smile that would light up the world! Full of life, Strong, Ambitious! I am proud of the Man you became. Cousins are often the first friends of our lives and for us its true. I will never forget the close connection we shared. A 4 year age difference had nothing on us, we were inseprable as far back as I can remember. The countless hours of me "babysitting" turned into hours of us dancing, playing and make videos and skits all night long till our parents got home.I will never forget all the times I would come over and your mom would draw mustaches on our faces and you boys would be running in your undies while she videod us. As we got older we made some unforgettable memories. One was when my car broke down on 4th of July and we were stranded in a parking lot in mission valley for the fireworks I remember we put the top down of my convertable and talked for hours. It just seems like yesterday you were here in our house making cornbread at 5am,spending time with the family, giving your famous massages, the time flew by but I am so thankful for the memories we made and I will cherish them till I see you again and.... we'll make some more! You truly are my hero not only because you were a marine and gave sacraficially but because you fought a good fight, finished the race, and kept the faith! With your arms streched towards heaven worshipping God that special sunday night will never be forgotten. You accomplished so much in such a short span of time I am still amazed by you! I miss you more everyday! I would have never imagined life to take us down this path but I know your in heaven cheering me on now and one sweet day well meet again on those streets of Gold and walk with Jesus hand in hand! I Love you so much! You are in my heart and in my mind always!
Love your Cuz

My beloved son,
I love you more than words could ever say and you mean more to me than anything in this world. We had some good times together and we laughed together. We had a kindred spirit you and me. At times I lived through your eyes, I felt as though we had gotten connected thanks to video chat. We loved to talk about science fiction, history, government, the Bible and so much more. We had plans together as you grew older and matured into a fine young man. You believed that God had a plan for you and somehow I see that even now. My plan is to meet my Marine on that great celestial shore and pick up where we left off...

A memory of Eric...one year when we were at the river, we were down by the water and his dad needed some help up. Eric was called, he stopped what he was doing, he came running down to the water to help his dad. He did this the entire time we were there. I never saw him complain about helping. I remember thinking what a son! Roy and Cynthia, what a wonderful son you raised, and what a blessing to know that you will meet again. What a treasure you have in heaven. May God wrap His loving arms around you both and give you strength for the days that lay ahead.

Eric - you were always such a spirited boy - rough and tough but at the same time showing a sweet compassion towards others. My son Caleb (who was/is much younger) LOVED to hang out with the Dobles boys! He would always tag around you after church, beg to go over and play during the week and looked up to you all just like the big brothers he never had. I like to think that my son "grew" on the Dobles family, whether they liked him or not! Eric, you and Eddie would even tolerate a game of COD with the little guy to make him feel included - I appreciated that! Eric we will miss you so much - your mixture of strength and sweetness and your special smile! We are believing God to be a comfort to your family as you rejoice in heaven. Gone but not forgotten.

Eric, I remember when we met. You, your brother Eddie, me and a bunch of other kids playing football at my Grandparents' trailer park. It's crazy how time flies, and it's even worse how lives can change. I know that you're up in heaven right now with Our Lord Jesus Christ. It still hurts knowing you're gone, but I know I'll see you again one day. Much love bro, miss you. Rest in Peace.

I hate the fact that I have to live everyday and know that your gone, it truly hurts. I always catch myself in a daze, thinking about all the memories we had. We had so much good times that I can even write a book about it. They are all so precious to me, but there's this one memory I love the most. It was a Friday night youth hangout, and we were all outside, when all of a sudden it began to rain. Then we all ran into Leo Fitch's car. Leo played his Christian Rap in the car at the time and I had said, "Aww no its all about Country Music", and you agreed with me. So then I put the song Small Town USA, by Justin Moore. And I realized you liked it cause your face turned into a smile. So we both started to sing it, as the night went on the country music was flowing as we sang out loud in the rain. Our friendship grew stronger that night. We didn't stop singing until we both said no more. Every second we shared together will always be in my heart. You will forever be alive in my world, there will never be a day that passes by me that your not. You will always have that same special place in my heart. Love can touch us one time, last for a lifetime, and never let go till we're gone. Miss you, My Friend, My Hero, My Marine, and I'll Forever be your church girl! Rest in Peace Eric Dobles

Eric, it's still so hard to believe that you are really gone. So thankful that you committed your life to God. You were and always will be a great friend to Bryan and Zach. It truly broke our hearts to have to tell Bryan of your passing. He dedicates his service in the Air Force to you. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family. You have left a whole in all of our lives. I know Heaven rejoices as we mourn your loss. We love you and miss you.

Rest In Peace Eric J. Dobles 1991-2011
One of my good friends, Eric Joshua Dobles past away from a bike crash October 11th, 2011. This wasn't just any friend of mine, he was a brother, he was a son, he was a role model, he was a fighter, he was a marine and he was an all around phenomenal person. Eric recently turned 20 years old and also graduated basic training/boot camp. He had a passion for bikes, the words he prayed, and the people he surrounded himself by. Eric was one of those people that just touched you. He had such an impacted on everyone. One of my favorite memories of Eric was when he left roses on my door step. I woke up late and rushed out of the house due to the fact that I was running late and the first thing I see is a dozen of pink flowers. It made me stop and rethink that whole last hour. It made me think of who I was angry at that morning, for my mistake of waking up late. It also reminded me to appreciate the simple things in life. Unfortunately I could not say my goodbye to Eric before he left for basic training, or before he was taken from us. Although he was only here with us for 20 short years, he was also here for 20 long years. Eric left such a big impression on his friends, family, and new usmc buddies. I will think of you every time I go bowling, sing karaoke, ride a bike, meet a marine, and see a dozen pink roses. I speak for many when I say, we all love you and miss you…you will always hold a special place in my heart. Never forget the few, the proud, Eric Dobles.

"My heart breaks for my courageous brother Roy and wife Cynthia, and the whole family. I ask every day, why so soon? He was just growing into his own and becoming a man. I can only imagine that the Lord wanted him now. Not later. A pure heart, a loving boy, tenacious and feisty with his Aunt he was. He is not suffering now. He is next to the Lord, but we are left with an emptiness that only he could fill. A sadness in that maybe we could have hugged him and talked one more time. So proud to be your Aunt, Eric. Rest in Peace."

My precious little cousin, You were in my prayers long before you died, I was hoping to send strength your way while you were at bootcamp. I had you for a day that weekend you returned, and lost you again in a blink of an eye. We all need you to send us that strength we prayed for you to have back, becuase life is never going to be the same without you, and we need strength everytime we remember your gone. You are one of my Dobles three, it will never add up without thee. Smooches. xoxoxoxxoxo RIP

Eric you were an awsome man of God! You always had a smile that would brighten the cloudiest days. I think about all the good things you've done, and its just amazing how good of a person you were! you are such a blessing from above. I don't understand why all this happened, but God is soo good and works in misterious ways. I remember those times when we went Ice Skating we had a BLAST!!! and when we would text like everyday about something good that happened to us that day! and the time when we were all in Leos car singing country music. wow we sure did have some good times! but the most memorable time was when we did our little dances "your showing off mary" lol im so happy you made it through the Marines. you are a a true man of God. you've finished your race and into the gates of heaven! I am truely gonna miss you Eric Dobles!! love Erica Hernandez :)

I sit around and wonder why, as I watch each day go by. I look at all the pictures and when I hear those special songs my heart skips a beat thinking of my best friend I lost. You always been there for me and I will always be there for you until we meet again. Now it is time to let you go because your spirit is free, even though you will live inside of me. I will miss you every day but you will always be my best friend and that I know will always stay.
Love you " Baja "Erica" Boy"
