Eugene Matthew Miller
1925 - 2021
San Diego, CA
Eugene Miller was born and raised in Mobile, Alabama, where he lived until he joined the U.S. Navy. He last served in the Pacific aboard a net tender off Okinawa until the end of WWll. He then learned his trade as a newspaper linotype operator at the Society of Saint Paul in Ohio. Gene enjoyed traveling extensively in the service and U.S., before making his home in San Diego. Wherever he went to live, he first registered with the parish and served until he began losing his eyesight. Throughout his life he was a devout Catholic. He served at Saint Joseph's Cathedral for several years and made many friends there and at Cathedral Plaza Apartments. A gentleman always, he lived to the highest moral standards. This kind man with a great sense of humor is deeply loved and missed by his closest friend, Barbara, their friends, and her family. Services will be held on October 30, 2021 at 11am, at Saint Columba Church, 3327 Glencolum Dr, San Diego, CA 92123.Burial at Holy Cross Cemetery.
