I took courses in geography and meteorology from Mr. Throckmorton back in the spring of 2001. Being somewhat older (35) than the average student, I was frequently the only person who laughed at Mr. Throckmorton's jokes or numerous colorful cultural references or allusions. His ability to deftly wield antiquated slang to deliberately challenge students could be downright hilarious. I still recall him saying things like, "You can bet your sweet pippy on that!" or "You can put that in the freezing compartment of your icebox." His lectures were always engaging and informative. R.I.P.
