Vigeon, Helena 02/09/1924 ~ 09/15/2014 SAN DIEGO -- Helena G. Vigeon, 90, passed away peacefully at home with her daughter by her side. She retired from San Diego Unified School District where she taught the gifted students at Perry and Gage Elementary. Helena devoted her life to helping others. She will be remembered for her many years heading Our Lady of Grace Holiday Angel Program for families in need. She is joined in spirit with her beloved husband, Tony, and other loved ones who preceded her in death. Helena is survived by her children, Kathleen Vigeon of Santee, CA and Joseph Vigeon of Orwell, NY; granddaughter, Michelle (Vigeon) Griggs, grandson-in-law, Albert Griggs 2nd, and great-grandson, Anthony Griggs of Branson, MO; granddaughter, Geraldine Vigeon of North Syracuse, NY; grandson, Brandon Vigeon, grand daughter-in-law, Samatha (Glover) Vigeon and great-grandson, Dallas Vigeon of Austin, TX. The family will be present for her viewing on Sunday, September 21st, from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Greenwood Memorial Park Garden Chapel, 4300 Imperial Avenue, San Diego, CA. Monday, September 22nd, a Rosary will be said at 9:30 a.m. followed by celebration of Mass at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 2766 Navajo Road, El Cajon, CA. A reception will follow in the church hall. Interment will be Wednesday, September 24th, at 10:30 a.m. at Greenwood Memorial Park Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation to Our Lady of Grace Holiday Angel Program.

Aunt Helena and Uncle Tony Vigeon meant the world to the Johnson family. We were so blessed to receive their love, understanding, support, and their presence in our lives. We have the great memories of them helping us celebrate our births, marriages, anniversaries, baptisms, confirmation, and birthdays. They touched our lives, the lives of our children, and even the lives of my grandchildren. To us they were Family. We love them dearly and they will truly be missed.

God Bless you Aunt Helena. I am thankful that your suffering is over. I know that you are at peace in Heaven with Uncle Tony. You know that I love you both and I will continue to keep you both in my prayers.
I am praying for the family during this difficult time. I ask GOD to give them comfort, strength and peace. Amen.

Remembering Helena will not be hard. She was a giving person, always ready to help others in need. Every holiday Helena and Tony would make sure a stray person was at their dinner table sharing their food and family. Something I will never forget. They both made you feel welcome and always at home. Helena has rejoined Tony as an angel in our heavens and may be gone but never forgotten in our hearts. Our prayers are with my California family.

Mrs. Vigeon was my 5th grade teacher at Gage back in '78-'79. She was a unforgettable teacher. She always pushed her students to give their best effort. My condolences to her family in their time of grief.

We will miss Helena dearly. She was a giving
person, helpful, sharing her faith. Helena
and Tony touched many lives over the 70 years
they were married. And our friendship began
64 years ago, newly weds. We became part of
the family. Memories we will never forget.
Both had a common goal, sharing their faith
and working hard for their parishes. St Rita's and Our Lady of Grace. It was such a
blessing to know and love both of them.
Our children Love them as Aunt Helena and
Uncle Tony. And their children were our
nieces and nephews. They really became our
sister and brother years ago. May God bless
Kathy and Joe and families. Losing both parents in such a short time. We will always
remember them in prayer. May our Lord grant
them rest and peace for Eternity.
