What an incredible lady. I am overwhelmed by the selflessness that she possessed . She gave to everyone and epitomized the ability to coalesce moments and bring clarity, comfort and meaning to other peoples lives, young and old alike... God we need more people like her in this world. When her suffering was the greatest her spirit seemed to grow, waiting for another moment of life to appreciate all that it gave. She will be missed! I called her our very own bodhisattva. There are very few people in this world who can cast such a joyous glow on life. Jane's paintings always made me happy, and because many portrayed La Jolla, I could see my town through the brilliance of her colors. And her books ..her ranblings through the psyche...always right on...always personal...and fun. How much dimmer our world now is without Jane McNeel Keller here.

I had the privilege of helping Jane find the comfort shoes she loved(including Birkenstocks). Her "Moses Wore Birkies" hung on the front wall for many years giving a chuckle and a smile to all who came in. Jane kindly and generously gave the store(was located in La Jolla)cards with prints of her "La Jolla Maiden" gouache and "California Eden". In the 20 years I sold shoes at the store I loved rewarding certain customers with a print when I thought they might appreciate her humor and talent. I always thought she was a special human being. I am sorry about her illness and send my condolences. I am grateful I still have several cards and was given the "Moses" picture by the last owner of the store because she knew it meant a lot to me. I enjoyed learning about her lfe from the wonderful obituary. Sincerely Jane Cohen.
