Jay McBride Obituary

Jay Lee McBride passed away on April 10, 2022, at his home with family by his side. He was born and raised in Caseville, Michigan on February 18, 1933, to Fred and Mona McBride.
Jay married Georgina Beadle and they had three boys: Curtis, Terry, and Tom. They moved to San Diego in 1958. Jay first worked as a mechanic and then as a San Diego County Deputy Sherriff with many rolls from bailiff to DEA.
Once retired, Jay took over his deceased brother Duane's Arco gas station and McBride's Towing on Mission Center Rd.
Jay was a remarkable person and father. He will be remembered for his integrity, generosity, and kindness, which he shared with family, friends, colleagues, employees, and everyone fortunate to meet him.
Jay loved all animals. He had a supernatural character with animals. To see him around animals and how they gravitated and trusted him instantly was amazing.
Jay enjoyed hunting and attending San Diego Charger games as an annual season ticket holder. Anyone who knew Jay, knew he had a good story to tell and always with a dash of humor and optimism. Jay truly cared about everyone around him and would make sure all was well, as he was a true patriarch.
Jay is survived by his sons Curtis, Terry, Tom, and Brent McBride; his grandchildren Erin Rae McBride, Gina Sturgeon, Nick McBride; great-grandchildren Asher and Leuca Pagaduan, Ryder and Sol Sturgeon, Noah and Luke McBride, and Braydon McBride.
Jay was preceded in death by his parents Fred and Mona McBride, brother Duane McBride and first wife Georgina Beadle-McBride-Sandifer.
