Dear Darleen & Kathy, My heart aches for you girls, first losing your beloved Mother, Lilly, whom I liked so much as we shared our love of reading and had many laughs about her youth growing up on Staten Island.
Your sister, Joni was a beautiful lady whom I always had nice visits meeting on the streets of Cardiff or in the Cardiff library where she often volunteered with your Mother. I loved Joni's sense of humor and how she looked on the bright side of life. I would bump into Joni and your mother often in the park or local eateries. Most often, I would be with my recently deceased daughter, and we have a good laugh with them about our serendipitous meetings! Reading of Joni's passing was shocking, she was such a healthy strong lady. You and your family have my deepest sympathy. She loved you all dearly Joni left a legacy of great love, beauty and laughter. Helen McCarthy
