John P. Brincko

Rancho Santa Fe resident John P. Brincko died August 22, 2023, at St. John's hospital in Santa Monica, of complications from a respiratory ailment. He was 80 years old.
John's professional career as a corporate management and restructuring executive gained him an international reputation. Over time he held the role of president and chief executive of more than 50 companies and was engaged by marquee firms such as Barney's New York, Consolidated Freightways, Knudsen Diary, Lockheed Martin, Mossimo and Sunworld.
Brincko was also a globally recognized food and wine expert and vintage collector. Connor Kriegel, Sotheby's New York head of wine, described Brincko as "a collector who used his incredible knowledge of iconic French wine producers to assemble one of America's greatest collections." Brincko was a member and frequent awardee of numerous American and European food and wine societies.
In 2019, John and his wife of 30 years, Debbie Waadt Brincko, moved their primary residence from Brentwood, CA to Rancho Santa Fe.
Brincko was born in New York's Lower Manhattan and raised there and in Brooklyn, where he attended Brooklyn Tech High School. He achieved an accountancy degree from Baruch College prior to launching his career in business.
Brincko leaves a son, Matthew, from his marriage to Debbie Brincko, as well as a son, Justin, and a daughter, Danielle, from a previous marriage.
