I was one Mr Galvin's first students, when he was a student-teacher at Galileo High School In San Francisco 1967-1968. I remember him as soft-spoken and mild mannered, usually with a smile. Do not remember him ever raising his voice. His picture here looks just like the one in my yearbook.
How time flies. I am now retired from 36 years of teaching mathematics and physics.
Gone but not forgotten.

Carlos,
Siempre un compañero de trabajo. Me encantaba escuchar sus historias. Me acuerdo que lo nominaron como Mr.Rogers. ¡Qué risa me dió!

I'll always remember Carlos Galvin as a dapper dresser and formal speaker. I worked with him from 1994 through his retirement from Montgomery High School in 2002. He was a true original and one of my fondest memories.

I had the fortunate pleasure to be in his final class before retirement. I remember he was the absolute nicest teacher, commanded the most respect from all of his students, I truly felt as though he cared about all of us and our well-being. We even had a special handshake, back before it was cool to do that with your students. He had a dry sense of humor; if you weren´t paying attention in class, it´d easily go over your head. Easily one of the most enjoyable classes I ever had in high school. Rest in peace, Mr. Galvin.
