Joe was the ultimate Gentleman as my High School date at dances, beach parties and double dates with his sister Mary. I admired Joe for his Intelligence, humor, respectfulness and as a wholesome fun young man. There are people you meet and never remember and those you NEVER FORGET, I've never forgotten Joe. It was a pleasure meeting Mr. Rosa & his wife Mary on a cross country trip I did back in the summer of 2009. I am a good friend of his son Kekoa in Minneapolis and was lucky to stay for a couple of nights in his daughter Malia's home in Bend, OR. Mr. & Ms. Rosa's home has one of the most impressive and beautiful backdrop of forests and mountains I've ever seen. May he rest in peace.

Joe Rosa was just amazing in every way! Growing up (throughout high school, college and beyond...) Joe was such a kind and warm presence. He would always ask questions about what was going on in our lives, offer advice and a joke to boot. His sense of humor and laugh were so infectious.
He had the gift of finding joy in life and he will be truly missed. It is no exaggeration to say that Joe Rosa was one of a kind. My love and prayers go out to the entire Rosa family.

My heartfelt condolences to the Rosa Family.
Joe Rosa was a fun-loving friend to me while attending Point Loma High in
1947-48. Joe shared his buoyant sense of humor and kindness. I was proud to have had Joe as a high school friend.
God will hold him tightly and he shall ascend with Angeles.
Joe was blessed with a beautiful family and wonderful life.

For me, at age 10 when he visit the Azores Islands, he was like a great icon. When coming to the States and Joe and Sue visit with the family, it was always such special times Joe's laughter was contagious. Love the memories of him in my heart. Big hug Sue.
