Justin Frost Obituary

FROST, JUSTIN ROBERT Justin, age 35, lost his battle with a rare cancer on May 31, 2006. A native San Diegan... graduated from Granite Hills High School... was an avid fresh and saltwater fisherman...and a world traveled surfer. He enjoyed many trips to Mexico, Hawaii, and Indonesia. He is survived by his wife Paloma, daughters Kayla and Leilani, son Zach, sister Cynthia Uelen of El Cajon, mother and stepfather Lorraine and Leo Cardenez of El Cajon, father Robert Frost of La Mesa, grandfather Charles Frost of Morro Bay, uncle Bill Frost of Flagstaff Arizona, uncle Rick of Hanalei, Hawaii, and uncle Mike Koski of Barstow. A special thank you to the medical staff of Scripps Torrey Pines and Vitas Hospice for his treatment and care. His enthusiasm, zest for life and good humored nature will be missed by his many friends and family. A casual celebration of his life will be held Saturday June 10th at the southern end of La Jolla Shores. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to: Justin Robert Frost Trust, 7000 Saranac St. #80, La Mesa, CA 91941. Please sign the guest book at obituaries.uniontrib.com

Paloma and Kids,

Lucy and I got to know your Husband (Dad) so much through your many friends that were at the beach services. Justin was truly loved and respected by many. Blessings,

As you know, Justin was like a brother to my husband Ron, and so became the brother that I never had. I have many fond memories of Justin with his joy-filled life and carefree living. Memories ranging from camping on the beach in Rosarito to days spent relaxing on the pond and watching the kids fish. Justin probably stroked every fish in our pond, with pictures framed throughout our house to capture each one of them. His smile was always radiating and very contagious. He was a friend to every single person that he came in contact with... there was not one that he didn't like. It is a value that each of us should adopt, to love one another. He simply lived life and spread happiness to all those people who knew him. I thank God for Justin and know he is in a better place awaiting all of our arrivals. Still my family and I think of him daily and hold his family in our prayers. God bless you all and may the good times never leave your memory.

We Grew up Skateboarding, Surfing, and Fishing together with many other lucky people. Justin was a person who was good and I enpaize the word good at everthing he did. My sympathy goes out to the Frost family. I went to school with Justin from W.D. Hall through Granite Hills. I haven't talked to him in years. Justin always had that touch that effected many in a positive way.

Justin was such a crack up! Those are my first thoughts about him that come to mind. He was such a great friend. Even if you didn’t see him for a little while, when you did see him again, it was sort of like there wasn’t any lost time that had passed between you. There was still that closeness. Though we all lose touch with friends that we were once close to, doesn’t mean we don’t think about them. It’s nice to read all the responses from everyone. My deepest sympathy to his family and friends. He will be greatly missed.

My heart goes out the family. Justin was a real close friend for many years. Despite the fact that we lost touch when I moved away, Justin was the kind of person that always stayed with you. The memories will always remain vivid because of his character and the way he made life surreal. You are a part of my life's history and, I'm sure, many others! Thanks!

P.S. I wonder if our B.H.S. tats will be with us in the after life?

30 years of friendship, Justin was truly my best friend! Fishing trips we could talk about them forever, I will miss those phone calls, our conversations to and from the lakes, his huge grin, and his laugh. I'll never walk another shoreline without looking for him in the next cove, hunched over ready to set the hook, nor will I look at the ocean without watching and waiting for him to paddle back out over the waves, grinning, on fire.

In the movie "A River Runs Through It" The brother, while sitting on the banks of the river talking with his father, was asked to describe his other brother, a fisherman, who had died young. The brother gave his description and his father replied, "He was more than that! He was beautiful ! That was my friend Justin, He was beautiful!

Today, 100 or more of Justin's friends (We were all his best friends) and family gathered and said goodbye to him and it was Awesome! I will see my best friend again in Heaven I am sure of that, until then, I will think of him everyday. I will remember his loyalty and his friendship forever. If you read this, call your friends, say your sorry, laugh about old times, take a day off, Fish, Surf, " Find a place that makes you happy and go there" (Thanks Bob). I know Justin would. God Bless Justin's Family!

To you Justin...Thankyou! Well done! What a Life! See ya soon Bro

28 years of friendship and fun. The time doesnt seem long enough. His love of the outdoors and his never ending giving and teaching to his friends. I will think of Justin every time i whip that rod back too hook another Bass, for without him I wouldn't know the joy of bass fishing or for that matter how to lure them to bite. I'll never forget when I was about 9 or 10 and he asked me to come down to play. I knocked on his door and as he opened it he shoved a pair of boxing gloves in my chest and said,"Today I'm gonna teach you to box." That was the kind of person he is and I will never forget him. Justin you will be loved and missed by many. Piece brother until we fish again for eternity.

Love,

My condolences to Justins Family. I grew up, up the street from Justin. He was a great friend. The best surfer I ever saw and new. He was also a great fisherman and was great in all sports. His drawings were cool, and very detailed. Justin was a leader to his friends, and would not let anyone hurt them or his family. He was very tough and strong. He definetly was someone I always looked up to. There was many times he made me laugh so hard my stomach hurt. He really liked reptiles. When Justin first learned of his illness, the only thing that mattered to him was that his family would be ok if he would pass. He will be missed by all of his friends and family. I will never forget him, he will always be in my thoughts, I guess its true the best ones die young!
