Kay Morris Obituary

Kay Marie Morris July 27, 1944 - January 4, 2020 SANTEE Kay Marie Morris, 75, passed peacefully, surrounded by family, in her Santee, CA home on January 4, 2020. We rejoice in her reunion with her Husband Larry. She was a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and an otherwise incredible Lady. She is survived by her four children: Elizabeth (Tiny), Sandra, Todd, Larry (The good looking one); 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.Kay was born on July 27, 1944 in Ohio. She met her husband, Larry in San Diego, and married at a young 17 years of age. She raised her four children in El Cajon, California. She will be missed by so many, and the world is a little less bright without her. She laughed and loved, and nothing pleased her more than the simple pleasures of time with family and her faithful dog Jack. She enjoyed an afternoon at Barona, and a delighted in getting enough points for that free buffet. Many times, throughout her life she shared that when she passed she did not want tears, she wanted a New Orleans Jazz band, and lots of laughing and drinking to celebrate her life. She overcame a long battle with cancer earlier in her life, beating death many times. Her strength and courage will continue to inspire everyone who knew her.Her final days were spent not being concerned about herself, but that her dog would be taken care of when she was gone. Here entire life, she was an avid dog lover. We love you mom, and not a day will go by that we do not think about you.

You are on my mind today, I miss you every single minute of every single day. I miss calling you everyday at 8 am & talking about our hummingbirds. I wish I could call you and talk to you about the blue bird house feeder we have, we get so many different kinds & they sing so beautifully. My backyard sounds like a courtyard you’d here on a bright sunny day. I love ❤ you for taking me as one of your own & being the awesome mother I never had & genuine unconditional love ❤. Miss those good ole belly laughs. Kiss poopy for me & give him my love.

January 4, 2020, My beautiful mother passed over to Heaven. She was a young mother when she first had me, her oldest child of four. Motherhood is a sacred road with a lot of work. She loved us all dearly putting us ahead of herself. Her favorite holiday was Christmas . She made each Christmas so special for all of us kids even through the hard times. All your children miss you so much, Mom. Hugs to heaven. Your eldest daughter, Tiny

Mom, I miss you so very much. It has been a crazy year, and I long to call you and talk and complain. You always let me complain and moan, and always said "I am fine" when I asked how you were. Tell dad I miss him too. I think about you so much, and find myself calling you all the time, before I remember you are not with us anymore.

I was your number 1 and you were always mine. My best friend growing up, my person to lean on, my confidant, and as I got older you were the gate keeper to my heart. Everyone had to meet you and get your stamp of approval because if you didn't bless them, I didn't need them. But oddly enough you approved them all, and well that was the just the heart you had. One of kindness, openness, acceptance, and enough laughter to fill the dullest of times.

Forever 26 you stayed; always looking forward to that upcoming impossible birthday of 27. And oh how close you came to reaching it, only 7 and half months to go. So 26 you'll remain and stay. Forever and always I'll celebrate your 27th on the 27th of July. Gosh I'll miss you so much.

Kay Morris (Katie as dad called her)

Mom,
When we were young, you managed a household of four children and a husband. You were always busy working hard to keep our house clean, cooking all the meals, and constantly picking up after all of us.
Whenever anyone, entered our house you made them feel welcome. You were loved by all! You always managed to look beautiful and shined like a social butterfly.
As the years went on, you helped me to raise my two children and my two grandchildren. You were always just a phone call away willing to help. Your heart was as big as the universe.
You were a rock. You defeated cancer (many times), three broken hips, one fractured ankle, and several surgeries-to be with your family. You taught all of us children to keep putting 1 foot in front of the other to just keep moving when the times get tough.
You were strong and you were my hero. I love you and I will miss you. Your daughter, Tiny Morris
