Leon Bramwell Obituary

Leon T. Bramwell January 17, 1933 - April 4, 2018 Lakeside Leon T. Bramwell of Lakeside, CA, was called home to be with the Lord on April 4, 2018. He was 85 years old. He is survived by his three sons Chris Bramwell, Clifford Bramwell and Chad Bramwell. He also leaves behind seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of fifty years, Betty Lou (Unger) Bramwell. Leon was born on January 17, 1933 in Pagosa Springs, CO, to Carl and Emmadell Bramwell. He moved to San Diego when he was 15 years old to live with his grandmother, Anna (Montroy) Kingsley, who was a great influence in his life. He later met the love of his life, Betty Lou, and the two were married in 1952. They eventually settled in Lakeside, CA, and in the 1970s built a home in the neighborhood of Eucalyptus Hills. The street they lived on was named Pagosa Lane in honor of Leon's hometown. He attended Grossmont High School and graduated in 1951. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree from San Diego State College in 1959, attending night classes while working full-time during the day. He was a medical representative for Gerber Products for over 30 years, calling on doctors and hospitals selling baby products, before retiring in the early 1990s as one of their top salesmen. Leon had a passion for woodcarving and immersed himself in it after his wife passed away in 2003. Over his lifetime he completed dozens of woodcarvings and favored biblical figures, such as the Madonna and Child and the Virgin Mary. Services will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Lakeside, CA.

A memory.."Lynn" always called me his little sister in high school. so when he first saw Betty Lou, it was love at first sight for him. He asked me to go to their first college dance to attract Betty Lou. His scheme worked as they were married that year.
In lateer years we talked periodically of his love for Betty Lou, his sons, his grandchildren and his carving...all that he held dear. Now that he is reunited with Betty Lou, I know they are watching over all of you. May God bless you all.

I am sorry for your loss. It is always hard to lose a loved one in death. Our heavenly Father is very aware and understands the pain you feel. He will give you comfort. (Psalms 86:6,7) Your family has my deepest sympathy.

Our prayers are with the Bramwell family. I have great memories of our times at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parrish and school. Your folks were good people and had lives that were well lived. Now they are joined in heaven, waiting for the rest of the family. God bless us all!
