Lori was born on May 29th, 1965 to Jacalyn Lee and Ralph William Butlin, in San Diego, California. Lori went to Madison High school in San Diego and earned a Bachelor's of Arts and Master's degree in Education. Lori worked as a teacher in the San Diego school district for seven years before relocating to Texas when she decided to spend her days raising her two children Jonathan and Makensie. Lori had a great love for life, she was always energetic, smiling and willing to try new things and find novel places to visit. Lori was also a foodie, she loved to cook, she loved the Food Network channel and was always searching out new recipes and restaurants. Lori and her husband Mike had a standing lunch date every Thursday for the last 15 years. Lori loved those lunches and would never miss them for anything. Lori and her husband also had a standing Saturday night date night forever. She loved those Saturday night dinners more than anything else in the world. They will be missed. Lori also loved to travel, to Europe or her favorite destination, any beach, anywhere. Whether it was the beaches of San Diego, Destin, or on some tropical Caribbean island, Lori loved the surf on her feet, the sand in her toes and the sun on her face. Some of her ashes will be on those same beaches in the not too distant future. And most of all, Lori loved her family, whether it was a family gathering at her dad's or brother Bryan's house, or just with her immediate family (Mike, Jon and Makensie), Lori loved and cared for each of us in a thousand different ways. Lori was the planner, Lori was the researcher, Lori was the coordinator, Lori was the glue that held the family together, Lori was and did more than we will ever know. Lori Marie Holland was a wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, sister-in-law, teacher, confident, colleague, partner, darling, lover, and best friend who was taken from us way too soon in life. Lori, you will be missed, but never forgotten. We loved and always will love you Lori.
