Mack Lovett Obituary
The Honorable Retired Superior Court Judge
Mack Lovett was born February 13, 1932 at Mercy Hospital, the only child to proud parents, Paul and Gladys Lovett, pioneers of Point Loma.
Mack graduated from San Diego State College in 1953, attended Stanford Law School and passed the Bar youngest in his class in 1956 at 23 years old. He served in the District Attorney's Criminal Division office in 1956.
He married Donis Fleming on October 5, 1957, and from 1962-1967 he was Division Council at General Dynamics. From 1967-1973, Mack Lovett was with Jack Donnelley in private practice.
In October of 1973, he was appointed by then Governor Ronald Reagan to be Municipal Court Judge from 1973-1983. He was Presiding Judge in 1977 and 1978. In 1983 he was appointed by then Governor George Deukmejian to Superior Court in San Diego. He retired in 1995.
Mack and Donis enjoyed traveling all over the US, Europe, and the Orient. His hobbies included tennis, golf, windsurfing, and skiing. He was a loving father, husband, and had many dear friends. He will be missed by many.
He is survived by his three children: Paul F. Lovett, Lauren K. Johnson, Nicole Lovett Miller, and grandchildren: Madison Lovett, Dakota Lovett, Leo Miller, Lani Miller, and Ben Johnson.

Mack was a friend, tennis partner, golf partner, and "of counsel" of our law firm. He was a mentor to me in life and in law. I met him first in his courtroom as a young attorney, and after my case was heard he called me to the bench, and said "I hear you like to play tennis!" Since that moment we started to play every Saturday for over ten years and Mack became one of my very best friends. I will always remember Mack's sense of humor, common sense and advice, and love of life. I admire him and his devotion to his family. We always enjoyed each other's company whether it was on the tennis court, the golf course, or at the yacht club having lunch together. I will cherish the memories we had together, always.

I want to thank Mack for the role he played in my life. At the beginning and later down the line. He was a great guy. Here is my last memory of him. I send my great
