La Mesa
On Tuesday, April 20th, Margaret Ann Henderson, loving wife, and mother of four children, passed away peacefully at the age of 76 with her family by her side. Marge was born on May 7, 1944, in Kearney, NE. Raised in Nebraska, she grew up in the towns of Kearney, Grand Island, Papillion and Omaha. Marge was a cheerleader during her days at Papillion H.S. and was voted "Prettiest Girl" her senior year, and only year, at Benson H.S. in Omaha. As one would imagine, Marge turned the heads of quite a few gentlemen during these days, especially Harry C. Henderson III's, whom she had met at St. Paul's Methodist Church in Omaha and grown to love while attending Nebraska Wesleyan University in Lincoln, NE. Marge married Harry on November 24, 1963, in Omaha, NE. Married life continued early on in Omaha but, following Harry's career path as a physician, ultimately led to stops in Phoenix, AZ, Durham, NC, Fort Leonard Wood, MO. In May of 1975, Harry and Marge, with four children now in tow, settled in La Mesa, CA, amidst the foothills of Mt. Helix, where they spent the next 46 years of their lives together.A devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, Marge was always there in one's moment of need. Marge was the consummate stay-at-home mom, volunteering at school, transporting her four children to-and-from, keeping the house immaculate, and taking great pride that her home was always beautifully decorated in the appropriate holiday/seasonal theme. Marge was an avid reader, a fantastic cook, enjoyed crafts, quilting, playing Bunco, board games, rooting for the Chargers, and most certainly holds the record for most jewelry, clothing items ever ordered from the Home Shopping Network. In her later years, Marge was an enthusiastic member of the Red Hat Society and absolutely loved and adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, cherishing every moment she was able to spend with them.Marge was a loving and courageous spirit that brought joy to all that she touched. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.Marge was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Ellen Roberts, and granddaughter Jessica Henderson. She is survived by her husband Dr. Harry C. Henderson III of La Mesa, CA, son Todd and daughter-in-law, Brenda Henderson of Jamul, CA, daughter Traci Henderson of Chula Vista, CA, son Harry C.
