Sweet Girl,
It's coming up on 11 years and I still talk about you til this day. I can still see your gorgelus smile and hear your laugh. It was always better if I could make you snort lol. We didn't know each other long but we accomplished alot in the short period of time; we started a Homeless Ministry together! There's no telling how big and beautiful it could've been if you were still around. Though I miss you like crazy and think of you consistently, I know things happen for a reason and sometimes they aren't for us to understand. I have 4 beautiful girls now and I know you would be their favorite "aunt" if you were still here. There's so much I've been through since you've been away and I know it would've been easier to deal with if you are here. I hope you parents and/or siblings read these because I want to visit your burial site. And I would love to hear all the things abourt you growing up that you didn't get to the chance to share with me. I know Roman is probably ok where he is in the world. Him having your personality is going to take him far in life. I love you and I cant even put into words how much I miss you....keep resting peacefully Devil Dog....I've got the watch now

Dear Sweet Girl,
I cared about you more than You'll ever know. We crossed paths for a reason and we became good friends. You brought life to any place you were and to any person would have been blessed with a chance to be in your presence, including myself. It's been almost 8 years to the day since you went away and every September has been hard ever since. It hurts just as much every year since. I love you, I miss you even more and I can't wait for the day I get to see you again....
I miss you like Yesterday....
Love, James. Your favorite Navy Corpsman

I met Marleea through the Rock Church Homeless Ministry. Marleea assigned me as an assistant leader in the ministry. She shared her dream of establishing Petra House. The vision for Petra House is a Christ centered transitional home for the homeless. I have learned so much from Marleea. She was a great friend. Marleea always made me laugh and sometimes we would laugh about absolutely nothing for 30 minutes. Her joyful laugh was contagious. She was an amazing woman of God and I know she is happy to be home with the Lord.
May the Lord comfort and strengthen family, friends, and all who knew her with memories of treasured moments with the beautiful, loving, strong and vibrant young woman Marleea Ann Bell Gerfen.
We love you and miss you Marleea.

Marleea called me "Oki". I met Marleea at a hiphop aerobics class 24 Hour Fitness was offering. I saw her helmet, and then introduced myself to her being as that I'm a female rider and am always excited to meet other ladies who ride. Since then, she and I were gym buddies and we rode to the gym together on Mondays and Thursdays and to bike night or girl-talk afterwards. She was such a bright, happy, positive, BEAUTIFUL woman; both on the surface and in her heart as well. I miss her so much already, and I will never forget her or the good times and laughter that we shared...
To her family and other friends; my prayers are with you all.

Marleea Anne Bell is the girl I knew her best as, we first met on our very first day of Marine Corps Recruit Training. Her last name was Bell and mine was Beck, making us "Bunk mates" but she became one of my best friends in recruit training and in the fleet. She was one of the only girls that I remained close with after training. We both ended up being stationed in California and in the same unit MALS-16. We saw a lot of each other. From boot camp to the fleet she was there for me whenever we had to do a big run. We also enjoyed the San Diego Night life downtown. She always had a smile on her face and lived life to the fullest! You will be missed Marleea and I love you!
To Marleea's Family, You all have been in my thoughts and prayers. May God be with you during this trying time.

Last year, I had the pleasure of meeting Merleaa, her husband Brandon and their little son Roman.
I was invited to sing at the "Church Without Walls" ministry in Balboa Park, where Merleaa gave of her time so graciously to the homeless. After I sang Christian music I'd written, Brandon would lead the group of homeless men and women congregated on the grass in a Bible lesson and prayer.
Afterward, the people in attendance would form a line to receive donated articles. Merleaa oversaw the distibution and made sure everyone who asked, received; Truly doing the work of our Lord and being about our Father's business. She was a bright young woman taken away too soon. Our loss is Heaven's gain. Rest in peace.

I was shocked to get an email Marleea's passing from the Rock. I have been getting emails from the Homeless Ministry from Marleea for the last few years. I was always so inspired and encouraged by the way she lived her life and what she wrote. I am so brokenhearted to hear a woman of such great love and service has passed. I know she is dancing and singing with the angels. I pray peace be with her family. I am so so sorry for your loss.
God Bless you

To Marleea's family and friends, I pray that God will give you strength during this difficult time. My wife Angie and I, had the pleasure of meeting Marleea at Small Group Leaders training at the Rock Church. I believe her husband was away at that time, and she would bring her newborn baby to class with her each week. We were so impressed with her and the fact that she "handled her business" and never made excuses. My last memory of her, was at the Marriage Retreat last year in La Quinta with the Rock. Marleea and her husband seemed so happy together. She was an amazing women and "the world" has lost someone very special.
Marleea, we will all miss you! You touched so many people in your young life. You are an inspiration to me and I thank God for allowing us to meet one of his Angels.
God Bless,

To Marleea's Family,
We met in the weirdest way,as if we were meant to meet each other. And til this day,its one of the best things that ever happened to me. She helped so many people in so many different ways and just from being in her presence made you feel something special.
The thing I will remember most about Marleea is her laugh. Her laugh could brighten my day no matter what I was going through. She thought I was hilarious so I would make her laugh just so it would make me smile.I will keep her family in my prayers as I was always in hers.

To Marleea's Family and close friends,
I went to school with Marleea at Millburn as well as at Antioch High School. I was not very close with her but Marleea was an amazing person, friends with everyone and always smiling :). One of my memories is from Millburn in middle school when we had a "Basketball sleepover" at Marleea's home. All the girls came over and her father worked with us playing basketball and a sleepover followed. I am keeping Marleea's family in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

To Marleea's Family,
I knew Marleea through the Rock Homeless Ministry. I will never forget her passion to serve God. She inspired everyone around her to love Jesus and worship through service. It breaks my heart to hear of her passing. I am daily praying for your family as you grieve her loss. It comforts me to think of her standing before Christ Jesus because she was a true servant of Christ.

To Marleea's Family. I had the distinct pleasure of working with Marleea when she first entered the Fleet in the United States Marine Corps. She was an outstanding Marine, one I was proud to stand beside. She was full of determination and a very happy person, always ready to help those in need. I learned much from her, and this comes as a great loss to myself as well. My condolences.
