Marty gave me my first job while I was in College. I learned a lot and had a great time working for the family. Every now and then I drive by the spot where Sunshine Liquor used to be and reminisce. And I say the spot where the store used to be because it has been bulldozed to make room for more condos. Sad. But I do have fond memories of working their. I hope all is well with the family and that memories have been able to ease the grief that we all share.

I am so sorry to hear about Marty. I enjoyed working for him at Sunshine Liquor back in 1975. He taught me a lot about business and customer service. I have only favorable memories of him. He was energetic, and positive role model.

Hello. So sorry to read about Martys passing. Betty and Marty were always so nice and quickly became our friends at Sunshine liquor. The store has never been the same. We ran into him in Hillcrest a few years ago and he remembered us, even the first time we came into the store as newlyweds and had nothing in the house to eat. Impressive! And that was 1975, Fondly, Darlene and Frank Brenha. [email protected]

Dear Betty, Fred and Kimberly, I am so sorry to read about Marty's passing. It seems so long ago that I worked for you all at Sunshine Liquor. It was a great time! Everybody loved Marty and even though I did not like working on weekends (who did?) I loved working at Sunshine with all of our good customers who always asked for Marty. I turned 21 while working there and enjoyed going out for drinks at the Catalina Lounge after we closed. I know we lost touch over the years, but I still think about Sunshine Liquor and the Hamud family. Thanks to you and Marty, I am glad to have Sunshine Liquor on my resume. Take care and may Marty rest in peace!
