Marvin Kelpin January 4, 1935 - November 8, 2018 San Diego Marvin Edward Kelpin passed away peacefully in his home Thursday, November 8, 2018. He was born January 4, 1935 in Los Angeles to John "Ed" and Bobby Kelpin. His parents and brothers, Paul and Jerry Kelpin, preceded Marvin in death. Marvin was a witty and fun-loving sportsman, deeply loved by his family and friends. He grew up hunting and fishing in the hills of San Diego's south county, graduated from Sweetwater High in 1953 and soon after began his 34-year career as Design Engineer with Pacific Bell. After retiring at the young age of 54, Marvin travelled extensively between Alaska and Baja, spending much time at his Punta Chivato home within the Shell Beach community. Services will be held Friday, November 30th, 3:30 pm at Provence House, 4370 Sweetwater Rd., Bonita, CA. Marvin leaves behind his wife, Rosa Kelpin; his children, Laurie Scott, Julie Kelpin, Dan Kelpin (Tannie) and Patti Clark (Mark); their mother, Phyllis Rainbolt; his grandchildren, Sean Payne (Desiree), Summer Mershon, Tim Payne (Marilyn Maloney), Jennifer Scott, Tim Scott, Emily Frey (Cameron), Tyler Kelpin (Melissa) and Connor Kelpin; and his great-grandchildren, Rosalee Payne, Killian Payne, Evie Frey and Landon Kelpin.
