Dear,
Rhonda, Karrie, Dannie, Ben and Macky,
My Deepest condolences. I have so many fond recollections of Uncle Mack going back to some of my earliest memories: taking me to the Field museum to see the dinosaur skeletons when I was 5, Mack and Bob drinking champagne out of the silver canoe trophy after winning the Macinac Race, working on Haste at the boat yard in Spring, all the good times at North Deere Park, the "Wilderness Walk" and the beach. When I had just graduated from college and was unsure of my next move Mack told me "If I were a young man today I would go to Brazil. It's like America 200 years ago..." I respected his opinion to the extent that I actually did! His joy for life and rapier wit will be missed by all.

My heart-felt sympathy goes out to the family. I've known Mac practically my whole life-- His "baby" sister Carole would fill us up with all of his thrilling adventures. I know you have many wonderful memories. May they give you some comfort. This is like the end of a wonderful era.

Bob and I have many happy memories of travelling on the cruise ship with Mac and Rhonda. He was a joy to be around with his clever wit and smile and enjoyment of life. One of our fondest memories was when Mac was an usher at our Easter Sunrise service on the Crystal Symphony. It was raining and cold for the outside service at sunrise, and Mac and our friends Al Carpel and Dick Berger wrapped our worshippers in blankets and handed out the programs and song sheets. I'm sure it was the only Easter service he ever attended. We both loved him and I will continue to remember Mac and his family and happy to count them as friends.

Dear friends, The passing of your husband and dad will leave an empty space in your hearts but he will live forever in your memories. The picture in the paper was so typical as the picture I have of him in my mind--always smiling. My deepest symptahy to you all.
