Dear Bob and Family,
One of the things about submarine service is that it resembles a small family. Families stick together during trying times. Alice and I extend our sympathies to you on this solemn and sorrowful occasion.
Sincerely,
Alice Spruance and David Brummersted

I have so many special memories with my Nanny. Watching Wheel of Fortune with Popcorn, our special "girls" trips to the mall with lunch at The Broadway and she always treated me to something special, the many trips on the Bay with the Family, my first big girl trip to Menlo Park.... She was my California grandmother and loved me like her own. I will always cherish the many special times and memories. I know that Chris was waiting for you with open arms and that you are sharing many special memories.
Love Always!

Dear Bob and family,
I also feel like family, as I have known them all for about 25 years. Nancy was one of my fun buddies and I always enjoyed playing (shopping) and sharing mom things. I will really miss her, but I still have Linda, who is more like sister then friend.
Hey Nancy, raise hell up there.
Much love, Diana Thurman

Mom,
You were the most wonderful mother anyone could ask for. You were intuitive, sensitive, comforting, supportive, and so caring in everything you did. I learned so much from you and for that I sincerely thank you. Our world needs more people like you these days. Not a day will go by that I don't think of you, with only the fondest of memories. I still have so much to tell you and will file those away for when we meet up in heaven someday.
Loving you forever and always,
Linda

So glad to have known Nancy for over 30 years. She taught me so much - I think she was a born teacher. She taught me how to welcome a stranger into her home and make her feel welcome. She taught me that telling a great tale is an art. She taught me that loving your children and giving them the space to be who they are is the right thing to do. She taught me that remembering people as your life goes on without them means as much to that person as it does to yourself.
Loved her very much.

There are too many words to say about Mrs. Nancy Thomas. Growing up I used to think of her as a movie star and would tell her so. She was so beautiful, funny, sweet, and caring. She always told me the story about what she used to say to me "Sinbad, where did we find you?" and I would respond "in Connecticut" and she would laugh. Quite the dresser and always perfectly put together. I got to spend time with Nancy and Bob at the San Diego Yacht Club last September which was the last time I saw her. She was so proud of the book and video "the girls" put together for her for their surprise birthday party. My heart goes out to Bob, Linda and Julie and their families at this time. I wish I wasnt so darn far away so that I could give you a hug right now. XOXO

With best wishes to Captain Bob and the Thomas family. You are in our thoughts and prayers. We will forever remember Nancy as the fun-loving lady with the devilish laugh that could light up a room. Many of my favorite recipes came from her kitchen as she knew how to entertain with style! We are on the east coast and unable to attend the service for Nancy. We will light a candle and give a toast on Saturday to one very special lady!
With love...Ellen and Zeke
